sorry the late answering.
yeah i tried disabling all the plugins by doing the "/" think at init.txt
also ran it as administrator, and using 3.42 hook.dll.

It does crash right when i hit the <play> button in the screen where u can buy a shantoto ascension and security token. that takes you to the FFXI character selection screen.

Edit: i was doing the log in thing step by step to tell you excatly at what point it crashes, and it just worked fine lol, i dont know what happened. I'll let you know if it happens again, thank you all guys.

I grabbed the "BAN ALL OF CHINAAAAAA" List which contained other countries too >_> I Disabled the Japanese list but guess I didn't notice korea.

Korea unbanned now.

I copied and pasted my scripts to the scripts folder under the new windower, but now none of my equip macros are working. Is there something I'm forgetting to do?

I'm from Malaysia, I couldn't access windower website. Is there something that can be done? Legit player. Can Check ffxiah to verified. Server Leviathan.

Second,
I'm using windows 7 64 bit. If I hit ctrl-alt-del to bring up the task manager.. The Pol will crash

Third,
Not sure if that can be fix, If i minimize ffxi, can open another game.. The pol will crash.

Make sure you're playing in windowed mode without "True fullscreen" checked in the launcher GUI. Also make sure the "other" game you're opening is not full screen.

I don't get what you mean by true fullscreen.. Check the checkbox in ffxi config window mode? or Don't run at max resolution?

Also is the "other" game your trying to play running full screen? If so you're not going to be able to play it that way, along with FFXI running windowed in the background. (You didn't answer my last question in the other post so I'm just reiterating that to make sure.)

The other game is Section 8, wasn't sure how to run in window mode for that though >_<

Also, you can use Ctrl + Shift + Esc key combo to open Task Manager, and it actually goes straight to Task Manager much like Ctrl + Alt + Del used to prior to Vista. (for home version OS's anyway, XP Pro Ctrl + Alt + Del goes to a lock/etc. screen like Vista does now, don't know about prior to that)

to avoid the task manager crash via alt cnt del I always right click somewhere on my taskbar then click task manager

Hopefully someone here may also be able to help out.

Long story short: early December my mobo was starting to go and I had a local PC place replace it. When they re-installed windows they installed Vista 64bit to which I decided I might as well take up the opportunity to upgrade to Win7. I took advantage of the .edu student offer and upgraded to Win7 Home Premium 64bit. Ontop of that, the new mobo they put in has a built in video card so they removed my radeon since the fan was starting to go. Before I get into the windower issues here's a quick Everest report of my system:

Problem: When I run Windower the game will not load.

What I've tried:
1.) I've installed the newest version of Windower into the native path of /Program Files (x86)/ and I've verified the hook.dll is version 3.4.2.5.

2.) I have verified that both the Windower folder and Playonline folder have full Allow permissions through Properties>Security for user as well as administrator.

3.) When I "Run As Administrator" Launcher.exe and watch task manager I see this for about 3 seconds and then it disappears:

4.) If I use launcher_gui and check x64/launch I see the same thing in Task Manager but Windower 3 GUI Launcher hangs/Not Responds, then disappears.

5.) I have tried installing the drivers that others said worked from here 195.62: http://www.nvidia.co...95.62_whql.html

6.) I have tried opening up IE 64bit and then running Windower with no luck

7.) I have tried sticking launcher.exe in my startup and ONCE it loaded Playonline - Windower Enabled which then crashed as soon as I clicked on the POL ID I wanted to log in with. Every reboot after it I have not been able to replicate this, I can not get it to load before whatever is killing it.

8.) I have tried setting launcher.exe, launcher_gui, and polboot.exe to Compatibility mode: Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) and Run this program as an administrator but have not seen any change.

9.) I logged into safe mode with networking and attempted to load up Windower. In safe mode IT DID NOT CRASH, I could watch it use more CPU/Memory in Task Manager but I was unable to actually view the game although it was pinned to my start menu.

10.) I can load the game up through standard POL/FFXI in both full screen and Windowed Mode and have tried running Windower with the Windowed Mode checked in ffxi config with no luck.

11.) Windower V4 loads up fine, and I have tried to open up a 3.42 while V4 was open but the same problem occurs, nothing happens visually except seeing it in Task Manager for a few seconds.

12.) I have tried unloading my firewall and antivirus as well as removing them from startup and still I can not get windower to load.

I'm incredibly frustrated here and kicking myself for upgrading to Win7. Any recommendations? I am more than willing to try old Nvidia drivers, I tried searching the guru3d site but have no idea what I should be trying and what is not compatible since it gave me pages and pages of drivers when I searched. Thanks in advance!

Yea I tried giving this a shot in 64bit Win7 but after everything I can try it just wouldn't work so I gave up. ini wouldn't load, going into FFXI was essentially going into the normal window except it crashed when I tried to do anything outside the game.

i use win7 64bit. something i had to do was to put the calendar gadget on my desktop. dunno why, but it works.
i also completely disabled UAC

Gadget trick no longer needed in the latest release, also UAC off usually is a big-must. W7 64B here also.
