    Firefox issues

    I've been having a few problems with Firefox lately. I use Noscript and all the standard FF stuff. Lately however, many pages have not been loading or timing out. Refreshing it a couple of times usually fixes the problem, but certain sites like ebay don't load pictures, or take numerous times to time out to fix. IE works properly, so it's not my ISP or anything. Anyone have any ideas?

    I "think" it is a problem with noscript. I've been having this problem for several months. I'll load a page and it'll load without its CSS. Reloading usually fixes the problem, but it's massively irritating. If someone finds a fix I'd like to know as well! ^^;

    Can you confirm it's exclusive to Firefox by testing with either IE, Chrome or Opera? If it's not just Firefox, I guess it could possibly be a DNS issue. /clueless

    Yeah I can confirm for me at least it's solely Firefox as I've went and played with Chrome when Firefox pisses me off too bad, and I've had no problems with it. I would probably stay with Chrome if it had a proper AdBlocker (one that straight blocks them from loading, rather than just blocking the display of them) and Noscript (might have it now idk it's irrelevant till the above is done anyway). My Firefox simply does not load CSS at times. I'm not sure why it's randomly deciding it doesn't want to, but it's really annoying. I remember googling around at one point, and seeing a response stating it was a problem with noscript, but there wasn't anything to back that claim up or a fix aside from disabling noscript.

    Edit: It's possible it's neglecting to load more than the CSS. I'm usually annoyed and just spam click refresh when it happens, and have not tried to investigate it really hard. Next time it happens I'll look into it more.

    Well, you can try one of two things, or both if you just want to occassionally swap browsers.

    1) Use Chrome's Beta/Developer channel to enable extensions. From there you can browse through https://chrome.google.com/extensions to find whatever you like! Early stages but a decent amount of extensions already available. Simply going to that extensions gallery link using Chrome should tell you whether you can already install and if not what you need to do in order to install. If not just google Chrome Channel Changer and use it to switch to either a Beta or Developer Channel. Beta should suffice for extension support.

    2) Try to fix Firefox. You can try creating a new profile using Firefox's profile manager, or you can alternatively try install the Firefox Beta with or without a new profile to see if your situation changes at all. If you're concerned about the Beta screwing up your current profile, you can install a portable edition of Firefox, then install the Beta to that directory. Good luck!

    Yeah, I'm having the same exact problem. I thought it was a x64 problem, but the unofficial x64 project (forgot the name) is having the same issues. It's exclusive to Firefox, and I've had the problem without NoScript installed, so it doesn't seem to really be NoScript (at least for me). :/ I just moved to Chrome also. I'll definitely look into the beta and those extensions though. Thanks for posting them! =D

    Yeah, I've tried uninstalling Noscript and it doesn't seem to fix the problem. No problems with IE or Chrome. I don't like the idea of using Chrome though. It seems a bit insecure streaming all my stuff going to one vendor/company.

    I don't play ffxi any more so I'm not worried about getting jacked for a ffxi account, but the added security with NoScript is nice. My antivirus catches almost everything though, as it occurs. I might just go with IE again for a while.
