    Scaling Problems in Windows 7

Since I installed Windows 7, I've been experiencing a problem where if a window is oversized/undersized, it gets badly distorted and jagged when it gets scaled. It's not just FFXI either. I'm using a Radeon HD4890 and the latest catalyst drivers, but nothing seems to be fixing it. Anyone heard of this happening/have a fix I could try?

This started in Windows Vista. While its annoying for people with OCD like me, I guess its a problem with windower not properly resizing to fit the correct framesize. Your best bet is to make a post on the windower forums.

its because the borders on the windows are rendered as part of the resolution.

    + common sense

remove the borders? they're ugly anyway, imo.

right click desktop, personalize, window color, advanced appearance settings, set border padding to 0.

    Should do it, I think.

Setting border padding to zero doesn't seem to be an option in 7.

While we're on the topic, I'm using a GeForce 9800GTX and when ever I zoom in on images I can REALLY notice jaggies. This never happened in XP, what's the deal? Also text in POL seems to have a 'bleeding' appearance. It's really annoying.

Removed padding to 0, but you can still double click the POL window name area and you still need to resize the window to make it the smallest frame. Otherwise its still blurry.

Nifty trick, the last two posts fixed it for me. Thanks!

Update: Disabling Aero Glass while running applications that make use of that sort of scaling technique fixes the issue completely at all window sizes, which is nice for other applications that go nuts with it.
