If you're going to go the digital picture frame route make SURE you put some heart-warming family pictures onto it BEFORE you wrap it up and give it. Mothers and grandmothers love that kind of thing.

I'm getting my mother a keychain version of the digital picture frame. A couple of years ago I got her and my brother, who lives in Toronto, webcams so they could talk to and see each other over Skype.
