Windows won't bootup after Scandisk

So my power went out briefly and caused a computer shutdown while I was performing Scandisk about 30 minutes ago. No biggie right?

Start the PC back up, everything goes ok, expect the "There was an error, pick a way to start windows" with the safe mode and all that. Click normal, Windows starts to load, goes to a blue screen for a flicker, then restarts the PC.

No matter which mode I pick the computer starts to load Windows, briefly flickers to a blue screen (too fast to read anything on it) and immediately goes to restart.

Any suggestions? Really would suck to lose a barely 2 month old HDD due to a tripped breaker.

Hooked an old HDD up to the PC, booted off of it, CHDSK or whatever came up immediately and started going through the bad HDD files. Fixed it for me, glad I had a spare HDD on hand.

Congrats on fixing already. Normally I believe you can use a Windows Install disc or a Recovery CD to boot into the Recovery Console and run chkdsk as well.

I tried that, but the Recovery Console never booted up, just sat there. Figured I'd try to run it as a slave and fix it that way, worked like a charm.

My only issue is that the HDD has been cranking the noise up a bit lately, when seeking or writing it's pretty loud. Haven't had any errors or bad sectors, just seems strangely loud for a 2month old HDD. Really don't wanna go back to my old one, 80gb and slow as crap.

I had this happen to a PC at work not so long ago and I fixed it in the exact same way that you did.
Hopefully it'll be ok from now on... but it could be the sign on a bit of a defective drive and there's the possibility it could happen again.

My advice would be to back up your data and get a replacement under the warrenty as it's only two months old.
