In my opinion this does nothing but ironically extend the stereotype of women complaining when you compare the statistics of death and the negligence of treatment between the two sexes.

yeah, calling something a special interest is more than a little belittling. the fact is that some women underwent the same trauma as some men, plus they have to deal with the conceptions/reception of female soldiers when they come back. Not to mention that whole pesky rape and sexual harassment thing which they are pressured not to "whine" about and can present entirely different levels of mental distress.

The numbers are nowhere near that high. If you included all branches, active and reserve including civilian DoD employees; then you can do those kind of numbers. Active duty only including all branches you're only talking around 1.5 million, officer and enlisted.

Yeah that's probably more accurate I dunno what I was thinking. Still, just from my experience alone the numbers don't all add up. Regardless of the numbers, it's still a problem. Albeit to some people the mistreatment of female soldiers is heinous, keep in mind this isn't the biggest issue at hand here. Plus, there are some women who have sex and feel uncomfortable about it, and may accuse you of sexual assault after the fact because they regret it and felt pressured.

Unfortunately, it's not just the women who were actually raped that cry rape. Although, if someone was genuinely raped, they should hurry to the hospital for an examination to prove it asap, and not wait a few days after the bruising and vaginal tearing has healed, and all traces of drugs are gone from their system.

Which is unfortunately not realistic... repression, regression, etc, are all natural defense mechanisms that people in trauma use. Sublimation is the rarest of coping mechanisms, and the one frequently employed by women who can actually confront their rape...well, that or they're psychopaths and it never really bothered them to begin with.

While that would be nice, it's the exact opposite instinct for most people who are raped.
