A friend of mine works as a bartender at a local Cybercafe and he's looking to try and improve their takings as it's been a crummy year so far for them.
I recommended they look back into games (they stopped offering them a while back) but it's hard recommending games to them since their systems are a bit old and the owner will be a bit skeptical.
I'm trying to get them to do a test run to see how it'd work out but I'm having a hard time finding good games to test out.
What I'm asking you chaps is what games you'd play at a Cybercafe if you were on holiday and you had the opportunity.
They way they're set-up (arse backwards) the gaming test would be run on a closed LAN with very limited internet access.
L4D comes straight to mind as it's a blast on single or multi-player and their tables are set up 8 Systems a piece so perfect for Versus over their LAN.
Likewise Quake since it'll run no-problem on their systems and it's a DM classic and the bartender's favorite as he likes scamming noobs for free drinks on bets.
TF2 would be nice, but with limited 'net access and small player number it might be a bit boring.
Red Alert 2 is gold, as is Starcraft.
A WoW install could work as everyone and their mother seems to play, and it would save a dude on holiday the hassle of asking for an Ethernet Cable and finding an outlet for their Laptop's power brick, the only drawback being the lack of Addons and custom UI.
Any other thoughts on games they could offer? Stuff you'd be willing to play at random but not necessarily get too invested/involved in when on holiday?
