This little formula makes Aion all the more mind numbing to level up. I don't care how long it takes me to get to cap if i have fun getting there.

I think it's easier to bear if you're doing the grinding part in moderation. I easily could've been 50 weeks ago, but I was starting to get burnt-out with how mindless the grind can get. So I've been spending a lot of time PvP'ing/leveling other characters/crafting/etc. I only grind for an hour or so every 2-3 days. Been enjoying it a lot more and having more fun.

I enjoy playing Aion, and I don't care if you guys think it's a clone of WoW or unoriginal. I have fun, so go me! There are other games for you. Not all games are meant for everyone, so step off your throne and allow games to be tailored for someone besides yourself. This one just isn't for you, I don't know why you seem to take such offense to that.

My MMO experience is FFXI (5 years) and WoW (9 months during BC). I quit both games after a considerable amount of time for certain reasons, and if I have reasons to quit Aion at any point I will. I don't yet.

I guess this is what I'm getting at in the similarity between WoW and Aion. I understand that it's the same in FF, but in WoW/Aion you're constantly just spamming these buttons over and over.

I got up to level 26 in Aion before quitting. Every single fight was engage, spam abilities, win. Even in instances. There was no strategy. Just tank and spank beginning to end. Everything I've just described was the same in WoW.

I'm sure you're going to say that FF is the same way, but I disagree.

Oh yeah, and quests. WoW and Aion have an identical quest style, while FF was completely different(and largely pointless).

Aion is like Doom you start off with crappy weapons and have to kill tons of stuff before you get better weapons and armour.

Actually, this is one of the major aspects that makes it different from WoW.

The quest rewards are so small in Aion that literally 99% of the time you'll get better exp from grinding non-stop than running back and forth completing quests. I and others bored enough to calculate exp/hour in various scenarios found you can get 2-3x more exp at times (and far more on average) by just solo grinding non-stop all the way to 50.

This especially becomes apparent at 30-35+, because even if you do every single quest available each time you ding you'd be lucky to get even 1/4th of your total exp bar. Past 50 I doubt you could even get 1/7th.

In WoW, you level entirely to 80 on quests and it's most often also the best way to do so. However this is completely different in Aion; you don't really get that until you're a bit further into the game though.

Also the double xp weekends only apply to mob and crafting xp, not quests.

This only further raises the question as to why the hell did they bother adding quests in the first place since it seems like its only destroying the game be making players think early on that questing is the way to go.

I want Aion, not some failed attempt to replicate WoW.
