    32 bit POL error

POL keeps asking me to run in 32 bit. My display properties and driver settings are both set at 32 bit already. Anyone have any clue in the slightest?

Are you running a non-official/tweaked graphics driver? Many of them force your display into 16-bit regardless of what's requested in order to provide a speed boost.

Had a similar issue with omega drivers or some nonsense on my laptop. Made Civ IV run great, but POL did the whole super-grainy complain about the color depth thing.

    The error is 20008002.

It's also an official driver. ATI card 4800 series.

Was going to post this if the error is indeed the one I posted above. I commonly received that error back in the day using third-party drivers such as "NGO"/etc.

    EDIT:
Otherwiki is saying "20008002 ? desktop not set to 32 bit color depth. Usually a screwed up driver, or sometimes a desktop stuck on 16 bit."

Uninstall all drivers via ATi uninstaller.
Install driver cleaner and fully run in safemode to remove everything
    Reinstall

    See if that helps

Trying to install stuff from ati site and it's telling me setup didn't find a driver compatible with my current hardware or OS. o.O
