^ Re-issue, but one of the best grind albums I've heard in a very, very long time, and as such it deserves a mention.

Mastodon's "Crack The Skye" is excluded for the track Oblivion annoying and distracting me to the extent that I almost crashed a car because it was playing around in my head and would not go away.

There's a lot more records I wanted to listen to this year but haven't got around to yet.

I've been listening to this nonstop the last two weeks. Is that new Absu album any good? I had completely forgotten about them until I saw the new album at my local FYE.

I've been listening to this nonstop the last two weeks. Is that new Absu album any good? I had completely forgotten about them until I saw the new album at my local FYE.

It's got one of the best productions I've heard on a metal album in a while (assuming your idea of good production differs to that of, say, Darkthrone). It could have done with a little trimming, but it's a very strong album indeed, never really relents until the very end. First track is a rather mediocre opener, but from track 2 onwards it's my favourite album of the year.

Didn't listen to a lot of new stuff this year. :\ Didn't pick up VNV Nation's new album yet. Although, I did enjoy Arch Enemy's "new" album.
