That play, the minor brawl and the guy with chainmail armor made from New York license plates made the game worth watching. Kind of.
I seriously got into the game just in time to see the most amazing pick 6 of all time (read: awful fucking play) and then the fight. I said "wtf is this?" and turned it off.
Yeah the guy with the plates was awesome.
Good God, I just noticed something new on that play. I was wondering why the deep snapper ran a route and how in the hell it was legal -- they shifted the line to the left...and shifted the TE do snap the ball, meaning he is still eligible.
Again though, zero blockers for the whole play.
I dub this play the "Jersey Shore" -- it's a fucking train wreck, but you can't stop watching and laughing at it.
The situation would have picked it though.
Well it's an interesting news day for the Browns. Semi-Bad news in that Quinn is out for the season with a foot injury, which means that we're stuck with Derek Anderson for the rest of the season. Although if Jerome Harrison decides to play in God Mode for the rest of the season we could survive that.
I'm not sure what to think of Mike Holmgren being named President. On the one hand he did a good job of making the Packers and the Seahawks into winning teams while he was with those franchises for the most part. On the other hand, he's probably going to have a fight on his hands over who really runs the team with Mangini. Holmgren will win this fight, but it could cause some problems within the team. It would probably lead to Mangini being fired which I think overall would be a good thing, but having a revolving door for coaches usually creates long term problems for the team as a whole. I'd just like to see some stability for the team and to have someone that can actually do a good job of building up the team into a consistent winner.
The Browns need to do nothing but consistently feed Harrison the ball and I'm totally not saying that because I'm taking a gamble that he'll deliver me a championship in my cash league.
I think Holmgren has the right to cleean house and start fresh. As long as he sticks with his coaching pick for at least 3 years. If it's not headed in a positive direction by then, I think Holmgren should appoint himself as head coach. One thing is for certain is that the front office and coaching staff have to be on the same page or it will implode from the inside. Sup Al Davis. If the coach and the higher ups start having problems then it trickles down to the team. If Mangini isn't in Holmgren plan, then I'm all for removing him during the offseason instead of "hoping" things pan out.
I wish Bill Parcells was our GM.
Me too, that way he could refer to Williams as "the player". Sadly Jerry is the reason you guys will never land a coach like Shanahan or a Holmgren, I mean you had Parcells but Jerry doesn't know how to not meddle in shit and let a great coach and GM do their fucking jobs.
Draft comes around and Jerry turns instant homer and drafts players only from the states of Texas and Oklahoma and from his alma mater Arkansas. If you guys had a Shanahan instead of push overs like Campo and Phillips you guys would be set. Hell you guys were set when you had Parcells but noooooo, way to go Jerry.
Maybe we'd actually cut the shitty players and give the people who earned their worth their dues.
