Don't bother with the 4xxx Series they are obsolete now, 5XXX mobile is getting released in less than a month and they are much more powerful and use "less energy" which means Better battery life and less heat which is great for laptops
CES 2010 will reveal all information you need plus here is a leak about the 5xxx mobile

Man I hope there's something in the config to help Crappy laptops make this game work. Atleast Aion had a fps limiter which helped out alot.
Considering I work to pay off the rent, gas etc as well as study as a full time student, Don't have a lot of spare cash to go all bling on my next laptop :/ I'm just hoping the 4xxx series drops in price by the time XIV rolls around. I don't care much for battery life since I always plug my laptop in, I'd just need to be able to move around.
Then wait till mid Jan, older laptops prices will fall that's for sure
plus the new (mid range 5730)~ suppose to be as strong as the (high end 4850~)

This laptop should be around 800$~ next month maybe even less if you can find coupons (Ati Newer cards and Intel new 32nm Chips are getting released at jan too)
This was what I was looking at initially, it was $999 a while ago (guessing for the christmas specials) before it shot back up to $1099. If it indeed drops to $800, I'll be a happy camper.
BTW: Where would you end up finding cupons for say websites like newegg? I did an initial google for them just now but all I was able to find were "Deals of the day" that were just copied off newegg's own front page.
Thought I would post this here for the people who are thinking about applying multiple times. I don't want to see the dumbasses coming in here crying they didn't get in the beta and asking for codes because they applied multiple times.

* Applicants may apply only once. Repeat submissions from an individual will invalidate all of that individual’s applications.
someone got owned O_o
Was a street address required for the Beta Application? I forget. If so, lol at 22 people living at his address. I'm sure they have systems for red-flagging such douchebaggery.
I bet the champ even put his name the same on each application under 22 different fake SquareEnix accounts.
ProTip: Getting into the beta doesn't make you cool.
afk banging hot chicks.
I wouldn't be concerned with someone trying to sell a beta code, I'd be more concerned with someone retarded enough to actually BUY one.
There's very few reasons for your IP to be same as everyone else's machine unless the net is provided by your apt building. Clearly someone signing up 22 times with same IP will raise a red flag because it's very unlikely you'll have 22 people in your house wanting to play FFXIV, let alone more than 7, and I can guarantee having a unique POL account with FFXI playtime for each app will be a better way to tell apps apart than someone spamming 22 unique emails.
double
It was pretty much the same with the XI's BETA. No multi-applications.
Heck, it even disqualified email addresses like gmail, hotmail, etc.
I got into the FFXI beta twice.
just 2 more days and 13 hours gaiz!
I doubt it's by IP, its probably by repeat submissions under the same account (w/you can do afaik). I mean having 2 ppl sign up under the same IP isn't that odd. Considering you and friend could use the same computer if one person was at another's house, husband/wife, bf/gf, ect... Obviously the beta app isn't that high tech since it doesn't run a scanner on the computer, so I highly doubt they checking IP's unless somebody makes massive accounts under the same IP to raise a red flag. It's purely to tell ppl that if you sign up multiple times under the same account ur boned
Are yahoo accounts supposed to be boned? lol
Until 2010?
Not sure what you mean about yahoo accounts being boned.
Also
It's impossible to sign up twice with the same SE Member account.
