Beta applications are now up!

I'm almost 100% certain they will pick people with top end specs as well as lowend/shitty specs. No other way to stress test the limits of the server, players, frame rate, etc. Lying will do every bit as telling the truth for you.

However I do believe they will pick a few people who placed a score of 0-50, then a larger number of people 50-70 and 70-100+. SE would still want to see how a brand new FF MMO would impress new players to Final Fantasy as usual.

Either way signed up myself, can't wait.

Why would you want to go for a month? Close it sooner so we know faster and there's less people in the pool .

I really hope long time FFXI players get thrown some sort of bone in regards to this.

A lot of us have spent years of our lives playing and enjoying FFXI.. now they're making a new game and I feel we 'deserve' (yeah yeah I know) to be involved/help influence the development, starting with this beta test.

It may be elitist or whatever but the fact that long time FFXI players are gonna miss out because some random guy on the net who didn't care about XIV 3 seconds ago but just signed up anyway 'cause he could' is pretty sad to think about.

I would hope we got rewarded for loyalty to FFXI over someone who will play for a couple of hours then probably lose interest but yeah >_> *shrugs*.

None of yall have any idea of what theyre looking for. It could be a complete random picking and the questions we filled out are just for stats, or they will actually pick by specs, but that doesn mean they wont pick inferior ones either.

A P4, 512ram, 40gb harddrive, Windows 2000 (was that an option, dont recall), with onboard sound and video, has the same chance as the higest end pc possible.

Sure they want to see how the game will run on a decked out PC 5% of the userbase will be using, but they also want to know how well old PCs run too where theres a high userbase in that range and in mid range.

I was kinda hoping this also. I figured they wanted to know how it ran on both sides of the spectrum
