FF8 was a good game, I know a lot of people hate it, that is however because it had to follow in the foot steps of FF7. No game could follow it.

8 was good and I did like how it looked.

My order of FF games seems to be

FF 10/7 > 4 > 8/12 > 3 > 2> 1 > 10-2.

Tip for those who have never played this game. Do all sidequests/weapon upgrades when given oppurtunity, because once you reach 'disc 4' mostly everything is closed off. I think upgrading some weapons is impossible/made much harder if you don't finish before disc 4.

Great game, though. Pressing R1 is still fun.

Well a lot of stuff is but it is still possible to do certain things Won't say how due to spoilers people can go to gamefaqs. Basically there is a way to escape the final dungeon but so much can be missed if you rush right through. Granted I always enjoyed FFs enough to replay them.

FFVIII finally, I never understood the negativity this game gets. Other then Squall being a whiny bitch, its a great game, and much better then the oddly praised IX :/

IX gets a ton of praise because it went back to the more traditional style -- namely the lack of technology. One of the reasons a lot of people have issue with VIII is the battle system. Essentially the entire game can be played by relying entirely on you GFs (till the end). I remember the first time I played through, I used them almost exclusively as my attacks and didn't even realize the trigger functionality of the gunblade till my second playthrough. Also, the whole drawing magic and then attaching it to your stats didn't sit well with a lot of people. That said, I loved VIII. It was the first FF game that I played through 100%, and triple triad is the greatest card game ever.

Drawing all magic when you come across it isn't that necessary, just have ur gfs learn refine magic and you'll have magic stones to convert into spells. HOWEVER, once you find the vultures with the tornado spell. Draw that shit 100 X3. And you will now be overpowered.

i'd love a polishing up, like new FMV and better textures and so on.. but the original was great too, and although this was my favourite FF, i didn't get to play this much since my PS2 died.. so I'm really happy for this..

I don't have many reasons to get it from PSN though, unless PAL version isn't plagued by that 50 Hz crap anymore. Anyone knows?

Edit: actually I could just play the NTSC version, but English translation was terrible compared to Italian one so it would feel weird.

He probably bought a PS3 game off Amazon during their sales, one of which netted you $20 in credit towards a PSN purchase off Amazon itself.

Problem is that it only applies to Amazon's selection of PSN items to purchase, which is limited compared to the actual store, where-as the better option would be if they just dumped the $20 into your PSN account's wallet instead.
