in game report has been stated what it does over and over: it does not send anything to any GM. We fucking know this already so stop pretending using /autoreporthunting is being sent to a GM.

if you really wanted to report bots, use their fucking petition on the NCsoft site like they told you too. No illegal action required to contact a GM.

contrary to your belief: you do not have a right to a GM, you have the right to file a petition though.

AION has always, for me, been something to pass time until FFXIV comes out.

So no, I will not play AION.

    As for AION GM's, I find it utterly retarded that GM service is only available like 8 AM to 5 PM. I mean, that's the time people are at school and work. That's about as retarded as 911 only having personell 8 AM to 5 PM, and have an automated help service go;
Welcome to 911 emergency. Our service hours are 9 AM through 5 PM on weekdays, and 12 AM to 5 PM on Saturdays, closed Sundays. If you're currently getting robbed, press 1. If you're witnessing a fire, press 2. If you or someone you know is in need of medical emergency, press 3. If you or someone you know is currently getting murdered, press 4. If you're currently suspecting a domestic disturbance, press 5. To hear this message in another language, press 0.To repeat the options, press 9. For any other emergency, or if you with leave a message, please stay on the line and we will call you back during the next service hours. Thank you, and have a nice day.

I'd like to reiterate that this is a genuine question, and I'm not taking the piss. I ask because the only other MMORPG I've played is FFXI, and started after the first two expansions had been implemented so I have no frame of reference for Aion.

I see people complaining about the lack of end game content in Aion, and my initial reaction was "that's not fair, Aion is newly launched for the western market". However, I don't know that it is unfair as, like I've stated, I don't know if other games had more from launch day.
Although I did not play WoW until recently I know that it did launch with some decent end-game content.

I think the Aion/FFXI western launch end-game content comparison is telling. I did not start at NA launch, but I believe that both Sky and HNM's (the level 75 one's) were available. And this has to be kept in mind with the fact that the grind to 75 in FFXI was spectacularly long compared to present day grinds. I don't know what Aion end-game content consists of exactly, but my impression is that they are using PvP content as a stop-gap for whatever normal end-game content that would be "normal" for an MMO.

Also, relatively shortly after the NA FFXI launch CoP was announced and progressed and probably the appropriate speed for needed end-game content. CoP's problem was not content, it was a lack of comparative rewards to RoZ. But I believe this is much more due to the fact that SE didn't really know how to itemize the game at that point. There were ridiculous variations in the strength of gear and huge imbalances in gear distribution to different jobs. I think CoP was a reaction to this to fix things, but went too far the other way.

One more thing I think needs to be mentioned is that when FFXI was released, leveling was seen as part of the game and not necessarily just a grind. You had to group up for everything in the way that most games just have you do for end-game. Back in the day, leveling was something you did in addition to other things like missions, quests, NMs, events, etc. It was not something you did solo and rushed through to get to end-game, it was part of the game and it was something you could pick and choose to do on different jobs.

Also, enjoy your rose-colored glasses on the ffxi community lol There are helpful people in both, and retards in both (it's the internet, come on...) Look at the gimp/confused and random fail threads, alla, ffxiah forums, the wiki, various trolls, etc. for shining examples of the FFXI community.

What has SE learned, exactly? I keep seeing people talk about how FF14 WILL be X and Y, not like FFXI, but where has SE gone and said "we did this wrong and will do it differently in 14"? Sounds like wishful thinking with how little we know about 14 so far.

So anyone wanna GROUP SYNTH - I mean synergize? Bow chicka bow wow

Remember though that FFXI released in NA after the release of its arguably most influential expansion. Aion hasn't even had an expansion yet, it's still an unfair comparison.

People have come into Aion expecting content that took other games 5+ years and multiple expansions to release. Of course there won't be as much content as WotLC WoW or ToAU FFXI, but for a game that's been out for less than three months in NA, there's a lot to do; if you do it or not is up to you.

I will say that the arguments of "FF has a better community" is laughable, FF is just like any other MMO, you find good and bad in any community.

I am indifferent to whether either was "released at the right time" I was just stating the facts of the case. I don't know if it is "unfair" to discuss the level of end-game content at the time of NA release of an MMO originally released elsewhere. I am just comparing content at the time of release NA. WoW had end-game content at the time of it's original release which is better than FFXI and apparently Aion can say.

I do agree that people may have high expectations for what to expect from Aion (or any new MMO) because they are coming from fully developed MMOs. Those are expectations that all developers are going to have to deal with though, if they want the MMO player base to shift to their game. I think the "give them a break the game is new" argument is anything but disingenuous if you are then critical of another game and don't do the same.

We can disagree on the mentality of the community of the respective MMOs, but you have to use a very poor yardstick to equivocate the FFXI community with that of almost any other MMO. Of course there are good and bad in any community but that statement is incredibly vacuous and useless. No one would ever say the opposite. After the obvious is stated, I can then look more critically and see that the average level of civility and discourse in FFXI is far better than any other MMO I have played/seen/read about.

Stop assuming that EVERYBODY is wanting 5 years of content at launch. You don't know that and it makes you look like an idiot when you think so.

Aion is *slightly* smaller than FFXI and WoW at launch on an actual size level. As for content its had a year in korea to build upon from launch. Based on what they added in 1.5, when it launched in korea i can tell Aion was smallest compared to FFXI and WoW.

I can't respect a game that is obviously rushed and has 100's of bugs at NA launch with a boring ass grind. Grinds are OK if they are fun, Aion isn't.

Well considering the amount of content and the general complaints about the "lack" compared to wow and ffxi, it's a safe auumption to draw. 7 intances of varying levels per faction, not counting the 9 abyss dungeons, missions, miragents questline, dp questline (for the helm), abyss pvp, forts, rifting (granted it has it's issues), crafting ect. There is plenty to do, it's your choice to do them or not.

Obviously rushed? You must be joking. Did you play WAR at release? THAT was a rushed game; every game has bugs on launch, however aion was pretty stable at release. As to being a boring grind, that's subjective. I've had more fun grinding in Aion than in 5 years of ffxi; but again that's subjective.

"illegal"? "rights"? lol, shut the fuck up, you sound like some retard calling the AOL police because someone violated his freedom of speech on the internet. No amount of sanctimony makes the GM support in this game less fucking terrible, if the people who resorted to contacting GMs weren't banned for doing that they'd have quit for being ignored through other channels. Fact is, this game is hemorrhaging players and NCSoft is fucking stupid for banning players for victimless 3rd party program use.

Did you ever play Superman on the N64? That game was insanely horrible! Aion is fine compared to that!

Comparing Aion to WAR is pretty tangential to the discussion at hand.

It's a hell of a lot closer than comparing it to WoW.

It's funny, all we talk about all day while playing Aion is FFXI. 5 years is a lot to get out of your system. FFXI i'm sure will still be my favorite MMO ever as i had the most fun. It just got to the point of not wanting to log in because i was tired of the same schedule every week: Einherjar > ZNM's > Dynamis > Einherjar > ZNM's > Dynamis, not to mention HNM's 24/7.

The most fun i had was just leveling other jobs with friends and goofing off. I think those days of "leveling" being part of the game are long gone and i for one will miss it. The straight to end game bullshit is why i never played WoW. Here's hoping FFXIV will bring some of that back.

FFXI was released to NA (with Zilart content) after about 18 months and Aion after around 11. It's now a few months into the Aion NA release and there still hasn't been a whiff of an expansion. All we've had is a 'what Aion coulda/shoulda/maybe will be' video.

How long do we have to wait for a real Aion expansion before it becomes a "fair" comparison?

The option is there. There's a lot of stuff in ffxi that people had little intrest in, but it's still "content".

He claimed aion was rushed, citing no examples of how, so I provided an example of a truely rushed game to compare. If aion was really rushed it would have the same (or similar) issues that war had in it's first few months.

Do me a favor and link me to the surveys that support this statement. oh right you can't.

Aion's content lacks any kind of planned out process. its like throwing a bunch of random toys to some kids and saying "here kids play with these" and then watching what they do with it.

On paper the pvp rank system looks phenominal, but when people get higher you realize its not about pvp but just flat out hiding until you can safely do some PvE for AP (lovely how this all makes sense).

the Miragents/Fenris sets shouldn't have been added, it just seems silly to add a guaranteed reward of that level on a solo quest, no matter how long it takes to finish. I think it would have been better if they made it a blue quality set, but not gold. Its also smarter to go for this than farm AP for a lvl 50 set of equal quality.

Aion could be great if they would fix these problems rather than quickening the xp process so players can hit 50 and finding them out for themselves.
