I usually do a mixture of glass fiber and cermet chunks to 60 depending on what materials I can find. Both sell fast and breaks are really your only loss on cermet unless you overpay for materials. Try to do cermet to 56/59 and then finish off with glass fiber since the flint stones are typically harder to find in decent quantities on the AH.

I did Venom Dust every time. Mushussu and Crawler Hunters drop 2x scorpion claws and 1x shell 100%. All you really pay for is lightning crystals, and you can keep the scorpion shells to sell if you have the inventory space.

This is the correct answer. Find a friend (or multibox) the Mushussu and CH's. There are 3 Mushussu near the zoneline to Simurgh, 3 in the large room with the Exoray and Beetles. Then there are two Crawler hunter's past the coffer beetles, and 2-3 on the second map next to Demonic Tiphia's spawn. If you're lucky, you can get a Tiphia Sting to help pay for all the lightning crystals.

The worms deep in KRT all drop flint stones 100% if you are into farming.

Yea I forgot about Venom Dust. I did take some stacks of lightning crystals with me to CN to finish alchemy off for my Goldsmithing character. All my other mules were low level so did it with other recipes.

I make on average 400k a week on alchemy. It's on my main. The stuff imo worth synthing doesn't require a lot of space either. It's like this with every craft, find whats not in stock and refill it. Cursed Gear is still selling fairly well, and its cheap to make it, since you can farm all ingredients.

I make most of my money fishing though TBH

I agree with Electro. I make about 300k on my mule's alchemy per week. Most of my gil comes from fishing as well.

depends on what gets sold for me, I can usually get about 600-700k. Sometimes the stuff sells in a day and sometimes I have to repost 2-3 times before I get rid of it.

This x100. I make some really awesome lucky things, but they just don't sell these days.

You guys should all PM me what you sell so I can compare it to my list

I don't make armor though, that to me is a waste of gil in itself to gamble like that. I make spendable stuffs. You know the things that make your guns and xbows work very well. Bloodies work out fine, I can sell 2-3 stacks np. Its the bullets that kill me

    Some of my answers.

    1. You always profit or break even making your own consumables. No reliance on overpriced powders, oils, holy water, etc.

    2. Some of the HQ daggers sell fairly quickly.

    3. Some of the cursed -1s sell fairly quickly in the AH.

    4. Consumables sell fast.

    5. If you enjoy farming, you'll enjoy profit. An hour or two farming slime oil can yield you a few hundred-thousand gil when you HQ (and you will HQ).

    6. It's cheap to level until around 80 or so... but not so much if you do it right (HQ oils, powder, black ink, mercury, etc. to break even or purchase more power-leveling supplies).

    7. If you're a RNG, enjoy some nice hands and pants.

Save Holy Leather, I think it was, it's cheap to level all the way to 96!

    And bullets!

Alch paid for about 90% of my gun -- I finished bone towards the end of my sponsorship ~ I can rely on my Alchemy more than my other crafts ~ I can always come up with something that is steady profit when/if I need gil ~ But mostly I do focus on -1's

I've been considering alchemy for the opposite reason. I have 100m+ to put towards gun, but the price of AH bullets are ridiculous...I currently have 100 cooking with all subs, so I've been considering swapping alchemy to 100 and deleveling cooking to 60.

edit: the only thing that has been stopping me is the damn guild is in bastok. There's literally no quick way to get to bastok. I have the OP that sucks, running from the maw sucks, escaping from tele-dem sucks, etc.

Keep cooking if it's already done with items, it's steady money.

Level an Alchemy mule for like 1m or less to 100 (pending ingredients availability for the 96+ stretch) and the only subs you really need are smithing (60+1 for steel bullets) and maybe woodworking (I'll let you figure out why).

Goldsmithing is good too if you want to churn out Shrimp Lures.

Having alchemy and cooking 100+3 (plus your fishing) you'll be a very happy, very rich man.

Good advice, but tbh I haven't used cooking other than to make Kurrea (sp) pop item in the last 2+ years. I make my gil through other means and only have key items and hat from GPs, I didn't have the stomach to do enough for body/AH furniture. Not to mention I don't have NIN high enough for +3 katana. The purpose of alchemy would not be for constant profit, it'd really just be to make myself bullets lol. I doubt I'll ever actually do it because of the guild being in bastok. I don't have the stomach to level another craft/any subs on a mule, I already did that on my main and a mule for leather lol.

2 other ways to get to bastok easily are the new Republic earring, which kind of sucks due to 24 hour recharge, and tele-altep and escape from korroloka. If your whm isn't high enough altep rings are cheap (at least on bismarck they are). I still haven't gotten my furnishing because I'm too lazy to go there though.
