Happiness matches up with objective measures of state-level happiness.

The results are based on an examination of two data sets, one that included personal reports of happiness for 1.3 million Americans and the other that included objective measures, such as how crowded that state is, air quality, home prices and other factors known to impact quality of life.

It is indeed. I can't believe Hawaii (Oahu) is up there. It might be a great place to visit but I fucking hated living there and so did everyone else I knew.

The way I imagined this list was going to turn out was going to be, for the most part, 1 would start somewhere on the west coast, and the higher the number the goes, the farther east it goes.

I'm kinda surprised NH is at 27, i was expecting it ot be closer to mass and conn. And wtf at maine being #10.

Oh yes! #49 in education (thanks Mississippi) and #49 in roads and infrastructure (thanks again Mississippi) but 1st in happiness! Finally we won something. Suck it educated and financially stable states.


Edit: Damn. After reading the article it gives huge bonuses for having a low population and low housing prices. So we won because nobody wants to live here and our property is worthless. )#@$*(&^

Edit1: Seriously, how the fuck do they think people are happier here than in Hawaii? When's the last time Hawaii was evacuated for a fucking Hurricane?

Edit2: Then again, given the number of alcoholics here, at least half of the people that answered this survey were most likely not sober.
