Well, at this point I don't think they're really interfering at all. Assuming that the child is staying alive on its own, not with medical assistance. Receiving nourishment, somehow, from the mother/family isn't any different than any other 1 year old that can't provide food to itself, so why not just let it run the course and see what happens?
