I develop for DS... so I have played quiet a large number of DS games (R&D, what can I say /blush )

    Hotel Dusk -- Awesome whodunit
Civilization Revolution -- Do you like civilization? this is portable
The Dark Spire -- if you like Wizardry, my bf has played this for hours
    Nostaglia -- good standard RPG
Sim City Creator -- if you like sim city
    Grand Theft Auto, Chinatown wars
Advance Wars -- Will wright plays this every morning, tactical stragedy game.

And yeah anything 1st party is always good.

Is there a specific genre you are interested in?

This is basically the exact post I was going to make. GDI Atreides. Now that the Tales of Innocence translation is done you should definitely check that out.

I wouldn't mind trying Soma Bringer out. Is there a pre-patched copy I could download somewhere? I used to use romulation.net for finding stuff but it seems the ESA cracked down on them for the time being.

I'll test it on an emulator before I toss it to the DS. Last thing I need is a game disguised as a bricker. Thanks for the links.

This just requires some discipline. Same with Mame and other emulators.

Advance Wars Dual Strike and Day of Ruin are the best strategy games on the system.

First of all replace that shitty stock firmware that R4 comes with(assuming it's real and not a clone.)

So true. It has taken me a while to get over that. I am getting back into Soma Bringer after a year. Now I have Tales of Innocence 100% translated as well. Still have at least half of TWEWY to go also.

Yerp, I think I've finished all of like 4 games out of maybe 30 in the last 6 months or so. With that said, I'd consider those games my favorites, being Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes, Valkyrie Profile, and FF: Revenant Wings. SRT: Endless Frontier is really fun, especially the battle, but it's incredibly blatant about spamming tits, guns and robots all over the place, sometimes all at once (robot bitches), so your mileage may vary.

Bragger. I think part of it is just me... jaded gamer, blah blah. I am having a blast with DQIX though, finally back up on the cart to where I was on the ROM. I can't really put my finger on exactly what has me so roped in where other games lately just lose me.

It would figure that the first handheld I get into in a while has about 1.5 million quests in it so COMPLETION completion may not happen despite my enjoyment. =)

For Kingdom hearts, I've only played 1 and II, none of the handhelds or spin offs, am I good to go on 365/2 or would I be missing some needed plot from some of the other games?

365/2 is mainly background story for II so you're good to go.

Gonna have to say "fucking lol" at 365/2 days being good... easily the worst game in the KH series for a number of reasons, story (even though the series is a clusterfuck, this takes the cake) and gameplay being the big ones. It really has very little substance and can literally be skipped completely and have someone play the rest of the games and have nearly a full understanding of everything that's going on.
I don't even want to get started on the battle system... I really like KH games but I really dislike that game.

If you want to get a KH game for DS, get Re:Coded. BBS on PSP is definitely better than both though.

I got bored of 358/2 days also, ended up just reading the story on wikipedia to catch up rather than playing it.

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

Didn't really want to make a new thread on this so figured this was the best place to ask. Does anyone know if the DS has a decent amount of like hidden picture games?

My mom loves them, but her laptop is always getting viruses probably from d/l those games on like websites n' shit. We thought it would be nice to get her a ds since it'd be virus free (and we're on the other side of the country so husband has to keep trying to help her fix the comp over the phone lol. She does like things like bejeweled n' stuff too, but I doubt she'd stop using the comp if she couldn't have those hidden picture games, so figured I'd ask and see if people knew if the DS would be a good buy for someone like her.

Do you have an example of one? Like games where you solve shit that slowly reveals a picture? I know there are some bewejeled-y spinoffs but the ones I can think of go further down nerd lane than she'd probably care about.

think of it kind of like monkey island games. Where you gotta go from screen to screen looking for clues.

Mystery Millioheir or something like that. Old ladies come in asking about them all the time. Then they usually graduate to professor layton and love them.
