Even better was the very next chapter where Natsu "had no choice."
But yeah, I don't see the fire dragon surviving. It would be nice to see it since they are all cool now but I think that's the main reason it won't happen.

I would reckon Ice clone/time travel/Ultear will do something; He'll be fine.

I dunno what it is about the tone of this manga but I never really feel too involved or any extreme feelings about it. I read it every week and enjoy it but it just never invokes the feels or any sense of dread etc. Just sort of fluff entertainment for me.

I don't want it to be him but I feel someone "important" does need to go. To me at least, it steps the manga into a bigger league. We've seen plenty of fodder get taken out but it's about time a main character goes. I like the direction his sacrifice will take this arc.

Well, wendy is still around, and that one fairy tail old lady that seems to have some amazing healing ability. So anyone dying thats important probably could be healed.

Also, probably should spoiler some... spoilers for the latest chapter (can't seem to find spoiler rules that says how long etc etc atm)

I don't remember the spoiler rule affecting things that have already come out. It's rare for things to drop early for this manga at least.

If I see a manga topic bumped, I just assume a new chapter came out and will go read it before even entering. >.> Well, except Bleach and Naruto, since people seem to post in those topics all day, everyday.

edit: But I can throw mine in a spoiler tag if needed. I had just saw other people not using them!
