Holy shit, that recent chapter of Fair Tail Zero made me reread the entire series for clarification.

That was pretty god damn depressing. Literally means that Mavis has been having some sort of mental problem and fabricated an image of Zeira, who had died way back in chapter one. Looking back when Mavis met Yuriy, it makes sense why he was sweating and nervous now when he was introduced to "Zeira" and just played along. Even up to the campfire scene in chapter 5, the treasure hunter trio try to stop her from looking for Zeira because of reasons.

The theory that Zeira was never real has been around since early on in the series. I always had a weird Sixth Sense vibe from her cause it seemed people never really reacted to her directly.

Fariy Tail Zero:
Based on Zeira not really ever being mentioned in the actual series by Mavis, I figured she would die in this series or be an illusion. So this isn't too surprising, but still really sad.

Fairy Tail:
Erza being the next guild master definitely makes the most sense, even if it is just temporary/not going to happen at all.
