    So final arc then? I think we can assume Acnologia will join in at some point considering the talk between him and Zeref earlier.

    When was it that everyone came to know what Zeref looked like? I thought he was an enigma to most people and only Natsu and Grey had met him before.

    I'm sure they could describe him to the rest of the guild. It could also be something passed down through Fairy Tail since Mavis had met him before; though I guess she didn't know his identity.

    For what it's worth, these guys from Alvarez don't seem to know who he is.

    The question then becomes, has he always been Emperor Spriggan? Or did he replace the guy who's been drawn every time the Emperor was described previously?

    I thought it was a curse (the Curse of Anselam, I think it was called?) resulting from trying to bring his brother back. I was under the impression it was something he couldn't get rid of. The potency of which is inversely proportional to how much he values life.

    I think part of the reason he was away for a year was because of the curse.

    At the same time he seems to be spurring Natsu's growth so that Natsu can kill him. When I read that chapter with Acnologia I did wonder if he was just saying what Acnologia wanted to hear. Remember back when he killed Hades, he said that he "fights for the importance of life", and that one of the "sins" he was making Hades repent for was making him remember the value of life.

    Something I'm curious about, Zeref was cursed by a God right? So Gods do exist in the Fairy Tail universe. I wonder if they will ever come into play at all later on.
