I think the trolls are the ones who come in after the fact and stir shit up for no other reason than their own amusement. Or to feel better because they have an inexplicable need to be assholes on the internet. Some people like animals and think that someone torturing a helpless creature is brutal and deserving of some harsh punishment.

There are people who feel the same way when a news story pops up regarding a human hurting another human.

In either case trolls pop up and spout off how much they hate animals or specifically "animal x" and say they are glad that the animal was tortured and killed.
