It's not that animal life is more valuable than human life (in most cases) it's the fact that the humans who torture said animal are pretty much being pussies because they can't take on something more formidable. Humans, unlike pets, are able to think on their own and have the capabilities to get themselves out of retarded situations and that is why I'm more sympathetic to animals than humans.
