    Accounts Stolen, Possible Facebook Warning

So I just got home, g/f is crying saying she went to log into Facebook, a thinger popped up that crashed her Firefox(yes she has NoScript enabled), her Windower went down or something as well...when she went to log back in to Windower she got an error, it crashed again, and her passwords appear to have been changed, I just spoke to a GM and am about to contact the Support Center.

Just a head's up, as well as checking if anyone has seen this...I don't use Facebook(because it's for morons, but that's another story), and my stuff is all fine.

On Facebook right now, nothing's happening. Bet it was probably one of the apps she had on her Facebook, considering a lot of the apps on Facebook are run by a third party. Really REALLY doubt Facebook's the culprit.

I don't use the shit so I have no idea, I just know that's what she was doing when it went down, and the same thing happened to her mother around the same time, and her mother was doing the same thing 2 states away.

FB said that it was an issue caused on another site and that if the passwords were the same, you should change them.

There's been some facebook hackings before, people would take over an account and spam the friendlist asking to borrow money

Might as well say the internet needs to burn then.

It's always going to be some website on the internet, so why not get to the root of it?

I don't understand why people are so against Facebook. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it, and its so easy to coordinate events with my friends through Facebook.

It's obviously because you can only coordinate events with friends if you have both an event and friends.

Facebook has gone to a lot of people's houses and peed in their Cheerios. It's understandable.

It's cool to rag on facebook because it's popular. Like on here, it's cool to rag on SE.

Is she one of those people that use a universal password for everything? Heard about the same thing but only with myspace, but said person used the same password for EVERYTHING.

Had this happen to a friend, "she" was on facebook chat (which was unusual in and of itself) and I could tell it wasn't her based on her grammer and "story." Some friends did end up wiring "her" money, but got it refunded by Western Union. The funniest thing was when I figured out it was a hack the person defriended me, and anyone else that would post something on the wall saying it was hacked.

nope- made her use a completely different password than anything else. And yes, for adults facebook is actually quite good. If you're planning with your friends down the road on where to meet for dinner......hey whatever floats your boat.

Exactly. Like last night, I got invited last minute to go to a bonfire, which was shortly followed by a party.
