America, fuck yeah.
To be fair, we're not sending women over there to get knocked up and get sent back. Huge waste of money shipping people back and forth, so I can mostly agree with this. Jail time? Maybe a bit much, I'd settle for Non-Judicial Punishment. But should they get punished for getting women preggers, who are just as vital of a role to a squad as any man? Sure.
No, this is fucking needed. Women don't need to be the platoon sluts and get a free ride home for not keeping the clams shut, and men for not keeping their dicks in their pants. Men and women are both going to be courtmarshaled. Shit like this is the reason why people have extended tours.
Sign a contract. Do something with full knowledge that it could prevent you from filling your side of the contract. Get punished.
Pretty sure it'll just stay as this and are just using this threat to keep people "in line" as a scare tacticBut soldiers violating the rule so far have received letters of reprimand.
Basically. Civilians get mad all you want, this is not what these soldiers, marines, sailors and airmen signed up for. To piggyback on the contract deal, no kidding. at the LEAST NJP, but anything above, now that I think about it more, is totally called for. All the points above I agree with. Good grief.
Letters of reprimand? Good god, we call those counseling chits in the navy, and i have enough of those to build a replica of the Sears Tower. Those letters don't mean shit. Once people start losing rank/pay and liberty, they'll start to pay attention.
I think circumstances might have to be investigated here. When I was in Iraq, we had a woman who got pregnant while we were deployed. She was sent home. It wasn't intentional, in fact, she and the guy she was with were cheating on their significant others. It wasn't like she was desperately trying to get pregnant so she could get out of deployment. Then again, she did disobey the direct order not to have sex while in combat areas, but so did a lot of people. XD
Though that's pretty hard to prove who is trying hard to get knocked up and who isn't, but it's pretty obvious, I'd think. And (unless this has changed, which I doubt) you can get articled just for getting it on while deployed. It was one of the things we were told we were not permitted to do. I'm guessing not only because of the obvious pregnancy risks, but possibly hygiene and the fact that no one seems to be able to keep from cheating on their spouses while deployed.
I agree that getting pregnant just to get out of deployment is shady shit and needs to be dealt with. But not everyone intends to get pregnant, hell shit happens even when you use protection. (Ohi that's how I have two kids) So I don't know how they'd have to deal with that, but getting pregnant while in a combat zone? Oh yeah, they should definitely punish people for it. Jail is probably too much, but there are plenty of punishments in the military that can fuck you royally.
Definitely needed. Jail time might be too much, but the article says no ones been sent to jail so..
Abandon, you gotta fix that avatar. I keep mistaking you for terrible people.
Brig time, yay! One of the few punishments I HAVEN'T had ..... yet... /sigh
k thx."I see absolutely no circumstance where I would punish a female soldier by court martial for a violation ... I fully intend to handle these cases through lesser disciplinary action," he wrote, according to the ABC report.
Shit is nothing new. Even mention a deployment coming up and half the women in Ft. Bragg would come up pregnant the next day. I agree with every bit of punishment given to those involved, all 3 of our female supply soldiers pulled this stunt downrange so they had to pull guys from my squad. Stop with the Fox News style bullshit and figure out the details before you create misleading titles for threads.
yet another law influenced by the liberal media agenda making it easier on gays in the military
they can't get pregnant, duh
I totally support Abandon with this. I'm sorry, but when you can count the number of times a woman should have been deployed by the number of kids that she has, punishment, at least NJP, needs to be administered. There is a reason the stigma exists folks. You lose billets and money for that, and the ship's lose crew. Sometimes things happen and hey, I have seen it where someone got pregnant, went on deployment and then learned of it. But that isn't what this is about.
no one wants em anyway, it's the new black soldiers in vietnam
