Blood Tank Set?

Buckler Earring and Fenrir's Stone/Rosenbogen if you want pure reduction. The Kaiser would mitigate damage ~on par with the DS+1 in most slots there if slightly below, but has the higher HP to go with it (less CE lost when hit - presumably when bloodtanking this will be often) so I would still stick with the Kaiser personally.

Asa legs and dstl+1 body will do more than kaiser. Hands can do whatever. Shadow is the right choice. As far as rampart goes, if you are short on slots the legs and body are saving you 60ish damage every 5 minutes, or 12 damage a minute. In terms of things to be dropped for more useful options imo those are at the top.

In terms of damage reduction they will be roughly on par with some preference towards the DS when stacked (VIT and DEF don't do -nothing-, they're just not amazing - but there is a large chunk of it on those two Kaiser pieces). They have HP as well which would mean your cumulative enmity deteriorates far more slowly when you're getting smacked around.

21VIT on Kaiser Cuirass is enemy fSTR - 5.25 on average, which is -5.25% damage if they have 100 base damage, -2.625% if they have 200 base damage etc. Add the DEF's reduction to that and it'll be damn close to the Darksteel.

Also has huge -dex and str which increases likelyhood of missing or hitting for 0, which means less atonement usage. I mean how much are you bloodtanking these days? Pld/rdm solo, atonement matters. Dynamis? Atonement matters and lolpld. Hnms? Atonement matters and why are you not /nin.

Biggest use is /rdm and honestly in those situations homam and ares body will be better since the haste, positive stats and refresh will increase kill speed which will reduce the dot taken because of shorter fight.

The real answer is to never uncurse kaiser, if you already have it then w/e but the applications are pretty lol.

The use of Koenig/Kaiser pieces (besides head) outside of Rampart is so situational, it's not worth uncursing unless you're extremely anal about PLD.

Define bloodtanking? Anytime he is engaged and has support killing faster via atonement will reduce damage by more than 7%

I had DI in mind, and holding multiple mobs in campaign for instance. I agree though, Joyeuse all the way~
