Id say 'vent onry' if this wasn't a multi-platform game. That in-game chat is gonna be necessary for ps3 players talking to windows players.

Unless the PS3 players run vent on their computer (which may not be adequate enough for FFXIV but is for vent)

Real mother fuckin talk. I played FFXI perfectly fine w/o out windower or any kind of extra shit and I expect to do the same, I do plan on building a PC however later next year, for FFXIV and Old republic as well as other games, I very seriously doubt there will be a huge difference between the two like XI had with the PS2. Also what GRT said, I like loungin on my couch or bed and playing on my 52" HDTV's.

People are highly underselling the PS3's capabilities, its not an xbax or a PS2, people need to take the time and look at the exclusvies like Uncharted 2, GOW 3 etc and look how fantastic they look. I think the PS3 version is going to be fantastic.

You're right. What it comes down to is ignorance. It would seem. However, there are some that enjoy altering the games data files to give their player's equipment a different look (Which is surprisingly enough to sell someone to upgrade and play the PC version) and alter the music when they get tired of it. The differences are entirely small and unnecessary to compare at this point and not one person has given me a viable argument to how the PS3 is inferior to the PC at this time.

Pc monitors are smaller than most TV's so technically the pc is the inferior one. Plus the ps3 is less likely to lag if my ps2 was any indication of how things go. Pc's were inferior to the ps2 version when xi first came out(hence you can turn settings down so much on pc) so it's not surprising.

You can hook a PC up to a TV...

And you can turn down PC settings because not everybody is running the game on the same system.

PC monitors are smaller because they run at higher resolutions than TV sets. The bigger they get, the higher the resolutions get. That means you need more power to push those resolutions.

LCD/Plasma/CRT TVs are bigger but run at lower resolutions. Doesn't require as much power.

The PC isn't inferior, and a TV monitor is a LCD screen running at a lower res with speakers and a tuner slapped on.

1920x1200 24 inch > 1280x720 40 inch. 2560x1600 30 inch > 1920x1080 40-50 inch

I promise you a 30 inch computer monitor is more advanced and requires more power than the shitty 46 inch LCD set you buy at best buy running at 720p.

And Nvidia/Ati will launch their newer Graphic cards for laptops early 2010 which suppose to be more powerful and use less energy (Higher battery life)

Well that one is a highend laptop what do you expect
For a 999$ you can get the same exact laptop with 720p screen and 1 Hard drive and Dual core 2.53GHZ instead of Quad core

Remember though all these laptops will be absolute and prices drop like mad once the newer graphic cards get released (Next month) you will be able to get one for 600-800$~

Of course i only recommend it to people who is looking to buy a new PC, if your current Desktop is fine and only need a Graphic card upgrade then just upgrade the GPU, but if your cpu is slow, lack a decent LCD, need a motherboard/graphic card upgrade/etc then just buy a laptop.

Desktops are huge and annoying they belong to 2002/2003 only reason anyone should keep his desktop is if he care about "video editing"

I still dont know if my old GForce 260 can deal with this game. Need beta to test how well it runs and see if i need to upgrade before or after.

Runs aion at max just fine... Still tho aion looks nothing like this.

edit: I am saving money to upgrade ram and my GPU in a few months.

Same thing can be said for desktops

But older laptops couldn't handle gaming that much because graphic cards were huge and create too much heat unlike now (Hell 2 years ago gaming laptops were a joke and not powerful at all to be considered as a choice for gamers~)

My current laptop is on 24/7 and never had any problem with it plus Asus warranty is 3 years.
I know many gamers who even overclock their laptops (lol) and have no problem
You can also use a fan under your laptop in your home if you were paranoid (Not needed though, most laptops now if not all turn off/shutdown once they get overheated and won't turn on again until you cool them down)
