Missed this.
Clearly, no one who applies to a shell ever changes their gear sets as they obtain more gear, or anything. Go ahead and say this is a, don't care. But when I applied my gear was "minimum" for acceptance into the shell, and I worked on improving it. Not going to claim my gear was perfect way back what, over a year ago when I applied? Still wasn't when I quit, and at that point I really didn't give a fuck anymore.
I was WHM4LYFE anyway.
Yeah yeah,I know.
HAY URYUU
What amuses me here is this:
People saying FFXI went to shit after bans.
If cheaters are good for FFXI in your world, please. Don't remove your head from your ass and continue talking. It's a safe, warm world in there.
Botting, dupes, cheating- NONE of it is good for the game. It isn't "superior" to have APRadar or Wizbot or <insert your latest cheat tool here>. All it does is make people looking seriously at endgame or other high-level play (topend crafting/fishing/insert timesink here) think of it as the domain of script kiddies and bot-claimers. And then leave it to same.
Given that attitude being transferred to FFXIV by current FFXI endgame players, it's no wonder they're trying to get their act together with the banhammer and legal action. If you pollute FFXIV the same way, it'll result in the exact same thing- most players will see endgame as cheater's heaven, go "fuck that" and log off for WoW.
Nobody wants to fucking play with content that takes breaking the rules of the game to get to participate on a regular basis.
I don't know what argument everyone else is trying to make, I wasn't salvage banned and I don't stand to be banned from this, but it's a mass amount of people lost at once. At least on Remora, losing 300 active players would cut a good 20% off of the server.. that's a pretty big difference. SE can stand to lose the money, combining servers will keep the game alive, nobody is indispensible. It's still a massive loss of people, as was the salvage ban.
Voting Yabby worst poster of 2009. Reward should be killing yourself.
This x100. Having 40 people available from lvl 10-74 is 50x better than it was for most the jobs I leveled, where there would be 3 people "in range" to exp with most the time, which would then result in a 3-4 level gap, which was fucking awful exp. I think it's more reasonable to level now than ever before.
Oh, and you can still solo level easier now than before if you want, etc. I know it's not fast compared to partying today, but even this option is easily as fast as leveling in a party was back in the day.
Grats, you can use google.
above average retard.
Edit: Thought this would be more fun picking fights, alas i was wrong.
One word vocabulary of insults. You sure showed us.
I'm easily a worse poster!
I'd have to agree vigorously. These days, most of your leveling will be on one pink bird or another, and it's rare to see even a pickup party where someone ISN'T 2boxing a 75 mage. Level sync, better (any) exp rings, FoV, pet camps everywhere...I'd never have a Maat's Cap if leveling today wasn't vastly better than it used to be. I've gotten better exp/hour in the 50s than I used to get meriting in Ro'Maeve. This isn't even counting AB, which really only happened about 4x for me (I don't understand my LS members sometimes).
I will say that a lot of the best players I knew are gone, and so the game is far less appealing these days...but none of them were banned.
So I was downloading the EU POL client to cancel my account because aparently I cannot change account details from a US POL client and meanwhile I came to check this thread.
I expected a massive thread, but all I got was 10 pages =/ It was entertaining, yes, but a lot of repetition in it.
Only thing I wanted to say is I never really missed anyone in my server after any of the bans, but then again I played the game at my pace and never worried about the things that I didn't like. I suposse why the game didn't "go to shit" for me when the bans happened. I kept doing Salvage with my usual 4-6 people, kept doing low mans of whatever crap we could find with whatever half geared jobs we had with on the fly weird ass strategies... it was fun, definitely didn't go to shit for me
And yes. This post serves no purpose but to burn some time while POL updates, because it is of mighty importance my tetra master files are updated before I log in.
When you finally get 6 people and someone else leaves because they already partied with some other person also there before and think the party will be shit?
Gotta love it. But hey, 40 people is a pretty wide 1-75 invite variety if I do say so myself. That's like..6 different parties with 4 left over. That coves Valkurm Dunes, Qufim, East Ronfaure [S], Wajaom Woodlands, Bhaflau Thickets (60s), and Greater Colibri camps! I guess we do have enough people!
