Elezen
Lalafell
Hyur
Roegadyn
Miqo'te
I'm now torn between my initial plan of continuing Nartosar as a tatutaru, exacty the same, or just keeping the name but making a Galka. Or a sexy highlander.
I guess I'll decide once I get to try them out.
I think I'll be a Hyur. I generally like playing RPG's as something other than a human-type character, especially if I will be playing for years!
First of all I'd like to say hi to everyone! ^^
I've been following your FFXIV forum for some time now and I really like the attitude of your community and the great information provided. Thank you for that! ^^
That being said...
I've been playing a Mithra in FFXI and just loved the style and of course the looks too.
But for FFXIV I couldn't decide between a Miqo'te Sunseeker and a Roegadyn Seawolf yet.
I just like the way Miqo'te look, act, move and all. They are just adorable but at the same time they are reminiscent of agile, fast and deadly wild cats.
Too bad there are no male Miqo'te.
The Roegadyn on the other hand look like the big protectors to me. They are big, strong and as solid as a rock. They also look better than the Galkas did.
But I can't really imagine them as magic user.
Guess I'll have to wait for a chance to play around with the character creator before I can decide.
SE forgot to send me a beta invite again. -_-
I'll definitely be Elezen for sure; look the best, and love their hairstyles.
Starting Pugilist then switching to Gladiator.
Divided between Elvaan or Galka, think it'll have to be Galka this time around - went Elvaan for XI.
...
I think you joined the wrong place, are you sure you didn't mean to join here?: http://ffxiv.zam.com/forum.html?game=268Join Date: Jul 2010
Why the hostility? I am just replying to the thread topic.
If you want to say I am a noob, I played FFXI since 2004 and I have Mandau. I think I am above average in terms of a FFXI player.
The reason that I don't post more in BG is that anything you say that doesn't sound like an intelligent smart ass, you are mocked at by an intelligent smart ass.
Why do you reply with something that's totally not related to the thread? Isn't that trolling?
I'm saying this because everyone knows that in 2010 people who choose race because of stats are usually gimps. Because initial stats doesn't mean shit
So you are saying that there's no prejudice in FFXI against Galka mages?
How do you know FF14 races will have identical stats when it's released? Are you SE or from the future?
How do you know from level 1-30, race stats won't make a difference? FFXI is 8 years old, everyone is at 75+, the gears give loads of stats, that's why it's not a big deal at end game.
I am not saying you can't excel your job when your race doesn't have best stats, just that stats is one of the reasons people pick different races.
IMO, FFXI race stats difference, while unimportant at end game, is relatively big comparing to other RPG or MMO. In WOW the gear stats is so extremely huge that race makes no difference what so ever. In FFXI race matters to key stats, like HP and MP. If a Galka PLD can take 1 more hit than a Taru PLD, that's a noticeable difference.
Had at first but not anymore, I know alot of galka black mages that outdo Taru BLM, it<s not that hard.
Because 1) SE said that the stats will have semi the same difference as FFXIHow do you know FF14 races will have identical stats when it's released? Are you SE or from the future?
2) And how do you know they won<t have close of the same stats
Low Level doesnt matherHow do you know from level 1-30, race stats won't make a difference? FFXI is 8 years old, everyone is at 75+, the gears give loads of stats, that's why it's not a big deal at end game.
No easily 80% of people take Mithra because they like cats, taru because they are cute, elvaan because they look gay and etcI am not saying you can't excel your job when your race doesn't have best stats, just that stats is one of the reasons people pick different races.
I remember my old LS I had a taru PLD with 1200HP full hate gear, cure cheat and all that shit and he never got 1 shotted.IMO, FFXI race stats difference, while unimportant at end game, is relatively big comparing to other RPG or MMO. In WOW the gear stats is so extremely huge that race makes no difference what so ever. In FFXI race matters to key stats, like HP and MP. If a Galka PLD can take 1 more hit than a Taru PLD, that's a noticeable difference.
IF you have the gear and the skills to protect you the rest doesn<t mather.
I wonder if the Lalafell's armor looks will be negatively affected by their size, like Tarutaru were. If so, I'm taking a Roegadyn just to see what I'm wearing properly.
My impression so far is that 1. you can allocate stats yourself as you level up, and reallocate them at will (with a timer that I'm not sure of), and 2. all races start with the same stats.
c/d #2? Even if there are differences the numbers I've seen from different players (granted at low levels) seem near enough that either races stats are within a few meaningless points of each other, or all races have the same stats.
I think I read in an interview on 4gamer that they are planning to make it easier to swap points between classes. Tanaka mentioned DoW and DoM specifically.
So my elezen can actually have high dex !? :O
Lalafel female main : oriented tank/melee if stats redistribution sucks
Lalafel female mule : 100% Conjuring
And yeah, so far there is absolutely 0 stats difference, hope it stays that way.![]()
gota love rata.. miss playing with you in Aion.
But yea. I'm going to be a Miq'ote because they are hella sexy and their emotes rock. Fortunately the haircut that I like and am using in beta seems to be the least popular as I haven't seen a single other person with it.
I'm a unique snowflake!
Love you too Aalryn
