Keyboard or Controller

I apologize if this has been posted before. I searched around a bit but couldn't find it. Do you rely solely on a keyboard or do you use a controller when playing FFXI? Feel free to list reasons why.

PC Keyboard 100%, tried controller (PS2) but feels so overly clunky and slow that I just went back to fulltime keyboard.

I couldn't stand being without a controller. I started playing almost exclusively with my controller, using the keyboard only to type in party or ls, but eventually became less dependent on the controller and started using the keyboard for commands and dropped macros (with which I was also using the controller) for spellcast, so the controller became something just for movement.

So I guess I evolved somewhat, but I never dropped the controller entirely. Moving with the mouse fucking blows dick and I couldn't stand WASD movement either.

I use numpad for moving, and (shift +) arrow keys for camera.

Controller for sure. I've never tried using the mouse and I don't want to. I use the keyboard if I'm eating lol, can't quite move properly with one hand with the controller.

Keyboard no contest. All the shortcuts to enter satchel/inventory/spell list/ect and much faster use of macros make it a no-brainer. The only use a controller has is for running up Mount Tor. if your fingers are too fat to accurately use numpad/WSAD.

I use the keyboard to type out spells/JAs often, but I'm pretty much totally incapable of moving around using WASD/numpad without a controller.

I almost quit when I first started in 05 because I thought you could ONLY move around using the mouse. I played pretty much only CS before this, so I've always used the WASD compact keyboard mode. Sometimes i use the numpad to move around, sometimes the mouse when I'm really bored.

I find it silly to use a controller and then having to put it down to type something. Then again, I don't macro everything and type a lot of commands to do stuff //paralyna <t>
