FFXI + Controller

I've had a gamecontroller from logitech and never really had any issues. Then I redid windows etc reinstalled drivers for the controller and all that.

But when I load up rom stuff and crap it doesn't really read it. What does read the controller is FFXI. Even if I'm not tabbed to it, whatever I do on the controller will move around FFXI and stuff. I don't want that, I don't play with the controller and I don't know how to disable that. I mean, I might do it every so often but I'd want it to work when I'm tabbed to the game at least. Any idea how to get zsnes and other crap to respond to controller and have FFXI not?

Why don't you disable controller in the FFXI config area? If you don't, FFXI, tabbed or not, will take omnipotent precedence with controller usage.

For zsnes, it's under the config/devices tab where you pick gamepad for devices. Once you have it selected you can then go to input to configure the keys that would correspond to the gamepad.
