    I thought it was a very nice ending for him. New guy seems like a douche, but I think I'm just too sad to see David go to really give him a chance.

    Yeah, the new guys got some gigantic shoes to fill, a lot of people will simply be turned off because "it's not Tennant." .... Which is true, but hey, they cast Eccleston, then Tennant, so i'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt with the new guy. And especially the new girl.

    I liked the new guy from the 40seconds or so he was around. He seemed to be able to pull off those 2-3 jokes they had for him and acted how I imagine the doctor(David) would in that situation. I know it's not much, but it's an optimistic start.

    He was standing in the shadows intentionally so that she never saw his face, thus limiting her recognition of him to being from his voice only.

    It was established by executive producer Julie Gardner that the woman in white is in fact the Doctor's mother, which is why she voted to not go through with the Lord President's plans to escape the timelock, as well as coming to Wilf multiple times to help him save the Doctor.

    When he said "I don't want to go" it's when you know you're gonna miss Tenant. This new doctor didn't seem so bad in his 30 seconds or so of on screen time so it's something to build off of.

    That's not what they meant. If Rose had seen the Doctor (Tennant) in this episode, why didn't she remember him when Eccleston turned into Tennant. But yeah, I agree that she probably wouldn't have got a good look at him and even then I probably wouldn't recognize some random drunk I saw a year prior.
