Liscense worth 50 bucks?

Well, like I said, driving isn't the issue. I guess I can do it for ID purposes though. As far as driving goes, car payments, insurance, gas, ect, I'd rather live w/o.

Florida has state ID cards according to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles site. They are only $25 and probably last as long as a license. They will work for all ID purposes, the only thing you can't do with it is drive a car.

In the long run, a drivers license isn't that expensive, so if he may as well go ahead and get the license instead of a state ID. It's like 5~10 dollars per year, depending on how long it lasts in his state.

Well if I'm forced to have an ID anyways, then it's rly 25 bucks instead of 50 (50-25 = 25 dollar loss) I don't drive, but I guess i may change my mind in the next 10 years. If it was 50 vs 0, yea, but if its 50 vs 25, i'll just cut my losses.

I'd pay the fee and keep your license. The fact is you never know what you will be doing in 5 years. Although you are a cyclist (cyclists last longer yo), you may need a car for a weekend trip or something and it never hurts to at least have the option available to you.

since your in FL spend 3 bucks get an ID, also idk if you have to retake drivers test if you dont renew with in like 30 days of expiring

Mine was expired almost ten months when I renewed it and the only test I had to take was the eye test.

I paid fifty to get a Florida license until the summer when I can go home and get a new Kentucky one. Its some bullshit.

They just recently raised the price, too, it was in the news, but I can't remember what the reasons were. It used to be like $24 now it's $48, which really is one hell of a price hike.

Yes it is worth the 50 bucks. Your insurance is also based off of how many years you are a licensed driver along with how many accidents youve been in. plus its nice to have it already instead of having to take the written test all over again and then wait to schedule a road test not to mention any fee's that go along with that and inconvenience to a friend or family member who has to bring their car for you to use

Another thing to consider, if you let it expire you may need to take whatever driving tests again as well. So not only would you need to cough up the $50 when you do need to get it again, but you'd also need to go through the hassle of a written/driving test too. I'm not sure if that's how it is where you live though.

I was wondering when somebody would mention this. The difference between 10 continuous years as a licensed driver and 5 years and letting it slip is already well worth the one-time $50 renewal fee. Yes yes I know you don't intend to drive but the longer you've had your license continuously the bigger the discount gets with a reputable insurance shop. You will eventually want a car, I don't care how much you like your bike.
