You guys are fucking lucky...license renewal in quebec in 200$ for 2 years.
if you dont renew it within an alloted period you may need to retake an on premise driving course afaik
My license expired on my 20th birthday and I was trying my best to get through the year with an expired license so I wouldn't have the "under 21" crap on it for the next 8 years.
While it was expired I used it to:
Get into clubs
Buy cigs for friends
Get through airport security
The only people who ever mentioned anything were the airport people, and even they were just like "Hey you know this is expired, right?" And still accepted it.
Made it 9 months then I had to get a bunch of information for a life insurance policy and they needed my drivers licnese number and that put an end to my shenanigansAnd as to rub salt in the wound NC just started printing under 21's virtical instead of horizontal so they are less likely to be altered, and put the birthday waaaaay at the bottom away from everything else in just the right spot that NO check out clerk can find on their own.
*checks license* Issued in 2008, expires in 2012. Think it was something like $30 bucks here in Podunk.
WA, paid 15$. Its been a few years tho. I believe its 20$ now.
Hey Hey now, 50 Bucks has got to be like 65 Grape DRANKS.
<3 ya Cream
I think its like $23 for 4 years here in Bama, least it was last I renewed. Which reminds me I need to renew mine in a few months!
Ninja Edit: Googled around a bit about you silly AZ license holders. From what I get out of it your license doesn't expire until you turn 65. Lucky Dogs!
Renewed my license back in October as it was about to expire, $21 for 6 years in Indiana, and they're about to implement a ton of new restrictions/ID requirements that I don't have to bother with until 2015.
Also, fuck that noise in AZ, I want the (not quite)perma-license.
Arizona is awesome @_@
It would be even more awesome if you weren't allowed to renew it ever again after 65.
I agree.
I just renewed mine not too long ago in PA. It was around $50 and it's only good for 4 years minus 3 days.
It's also useful if you ever plan on travelling and need to rent a car.
If you're not interested in a full on DL you can get a state issued identification card that doesn't extend driving privileges, usually at a much reduced cost (or maybe none). If nothing else I'd suggest you get one of those so you have some form of state-vetted identification. It's useful in a lot of ways you wouldn't necessarily anticipate.
At first I thought you were asking if it was worth it to sell your license for $50 since you don't use it, in case I would say yes, if you're selling it to an underage friend.
