    Home brew kits

I'm looking for some info on home brew kits. I want to try one out for fun but there are a ton of sites kits and I cant really find any good info on which ones to try or stay away from. So if any of you have any experience or tips I'd greatly appreciate it.

yea, beer brewing, sorry i wasnt clear on that. the problem isnt that the information isnt there, its just that digging through all the advanced brewing info to find a few beginner tidbits is really frustrating. i'm reading an online book by john palmer called how to brew that is pretty helpful so far. i'm really just looking for personal experiences to help me decide on some things.

How to Brew is good and so is The Complete Joy of Homebrewing by Charlie Papazian.

As far as a place to get good starter kits, hop on over to austinhomebrew.com; they have $8 shipping on ANY orders and their prices are usually fucking great.

Also, if you're looking for any help on getting started; homebrewtalk.com is a great community to join and when you start really getting into homebrewing and want to join the American Homebrewer's Association hit up beertown.org, they have forums there too. Being a member gets you the bimonthly magazine Zymurgy plus discounts and pubs and beer events all over the US. :D

EDIT: Here's a link to Austin Homebrew's starter kits: http://www.austinhomebrew.com/index.php?cPath=178_33_52

    I lol'd.

Edit: as far as I've been told, it's not really much cheaper than just buying beer - when you use small scale kits. It only becomes cheaper per litre when you start to increase the scale of the production.

thanks for the info guys. home brewing to save money isnt really my goal, i'm more interested in creating my own beer for fun. as with all of my hobbies the cost is worth it to me because of the enjoyment i get out of it.
