Anyone have a fair amount of parsing done for PUP on merit/dynamis/limbus level mobs? Just trying to get an idea of what their TP/WS damage ratio is w/ Stringing Pummel.

Bleh, to this day I still haven't mastered the art of pulling Vivian, and I've killed her over twenty times. Sometimes she just feels like being a bitch and not following me the whole way up the ledge
Draw-In, splat, Draw-In, Splat
Edit: And the best advice I can give you for Vivian is A) Engage, and B) Wizard Cookies. Not only does meleeing make the fight shorter(and subsequently less prone to mishaps), but even if you engage with a staff, parrying can be really nice. And Wizard Cookies more than make up for the lack of paralysis.
The one parse of a PUP I have on birds (buffs were marchx2 chaos/cor for reference) shows a 60/40 melee/ws split, however for most of the time he was accidentally using meat (I think?) and as such has an overall melee acc of 66% and average 660 SP.
I don't know if sushi would change the split much or not.
Wouldn't it theoretically be possible to kill the spiders in the way and have vivian dead before they repop? If the one video is any indication it's not an especially long fight.
I really should get off my ass and finish skilling dagger lol, but yeah thanks at least now i know what to expect on VV.
The only set of tests done with any amount of statistical significance has been with elemental magic. If you don't want to take that leap of faith that it applies similarly to other schools of magic then there's not much there. Best I've seen was a flawed procedure Sleep II test on puddings with ~400 trials and a similarly flawed Paralyze I test on Aura Statues with ~1000 trials.
Just got SAM to 75.
Gears in salvage PA or GKT? Are they weak to piercing, I can't find anything that states they are?
Def weak, but depends what food you're using and other DD. If you're using meat, it doesn't really seem worth it to me, if you're using a Pizza, go Pole for sure. Also depends on other DD/skillchains/etc. Not saying zomg skillchain always, but you shouldn't disregard all the chains that go off virtually every mob if melee aren't retarded.
I've only tried polearm once, it wasn't impressing ( due to not using pizza mainly, and mobs having higher stats that lolibris). They are definately weak to piercing seeing the numbers a THF can do w/o any brd buff ( ~1.5k). just use Great katana for the different SC possibilities that completly own them ( asuran > gekko or gekko > evisc).
I guess? I usually just zoned spiders if they were being a real bitch and not letting me pull. Like others said, pulling is the hardest part of the fight.
Pull it, get comfortable, CS nuke to force 2h or as close as you can, then just whittle it down and nuking while mp allows. It's a pretty easy fight.
Seconded wizard cookies, and don't forget to bring antidotes, impale's 50hp/ poison is pretty nasty, but doesn't last too long. When I was soloing her I would always get there and be like "fuck, forgot antidotes again."
Since I think more people check this thread than the New NM's thread:
Anyone have the Kotan-kor Kamuy dat pack that I could have?
Please PM.Appreciate any help!
about "organs gorget" I can have two gorgets? (snow and soil for example) or only 1?
Anwig Salade, Ranger-specific augments for a Yoichinoyumi user, but with Maat's Cap already: Which augments exactly, or do you not even bother with it (since she does have WHM as well)?
Can't recall off the top of my head at the moment, and I'd rather not have my friend waste their hat.
+4 STR WS acc +15 for sure, then probably AGI+4 WS damage+2%
So what you're saying then is a weapon skill head only, but even then, does WSDMG2% seriously outperform 3 STR and 3 AGI?
If you're speaking on the matter of Sidewinder for the WSACC15, then I guess I can kind of see your point, but I thought you'd want to use Namas Arrow entirely, unless you were fighting something where you can decimate it in three weapon skills or so.
