This method might be inefficient, but it's what I use. When loading Pebbles, choose the FFXI Data Browser. In this case you're looking for NPC/Monster Lists, so choose that menu option, scroll to Dynamis, then Dynamis-Beau.

On the left window pane will be the particular DAT that is being viewed. Scroll up on the left window pane and you'll see the directory structure... in this case it's RoZ(ROM2), Folder 13, 104.DAT. Knowing this you can locate it easy enough in your Final Fantasy XI folder.

For quick reference:
Final Fantasy XI - ROM
RoZ - ROM2
CoP - ROM3
ToA - ROM4
WoTG - ROM5
ACP - ROM6
MKD - ROM7
ASA - ROM8

I'm interested in editing Dynamis mob names to add their job after it. I have POL utils and have edited names of mobs successfully in one zone but took a while as you have to edit each individual mob in every pull and repeat for every zone.

Or you could just get the InfoBar plugin for windower.

Thanks for the info, I guess I'm trying to justify dancer at certain events, and I'm thinking about dynamis/einherjar/limbus/zerg fights. I can imagine erimines/azoth would be best for survivability and evasion tanking, and cinq/joy for straight speedy TP gain (with pizza or sushi). I guess where I'm a little vague is the best DD combo when you have support behind you and you can debuff/WS freely.

I'm trying to figure out what my acc needs to be at before I can sub in str and atk on my rana/penta builds vs. different mobs. Does anyone have a list of the eva scores/mob levels for different mobs? I was told there was one on BG at some point, but I'm not sure what to look for. Thanks in advance!

Here's a random question: am I the only one that uses Lightning Ring on Lightningsday? It's very easy to write into spellcast and the +8 accuracy it provides is pretty noticeable. I only ask because someone thought it was a "gimp" ring on Lightningsday.

Except maybe if you for some reason had a plethora of room in your inv (inb4 fail/thorny rage) and you're neglecting other pieces....?

First of all the person whom said it was gimp is a complete idiot unless you're a decently geared blitz ring job(aka capped acc).

You're not the only one who uses it but many either don't care that it exists or don't care to macro it in.
I personally need to remacro that ring in for my melee jobs(ps2 died and I never got around to fixing that)

City dynamis and meriting on birds.

I don't usually bother with the DD/tank stuff on DNC, since I have other jobs to do that. I try to support as best I can while on DNC. I use a Kleos WS set if I feel I'm hoarding TP and let the other melees benefit from an evasion down effect.

I haven't been on DNC in months, and sold all the DNC specific gear I had for it. It's just not worth the hassle to try and come up with reasons to justify it.

Seriously, that one DNC mentioned in my theoretical party setup is a 49.5% improvement in damage just by moving DDs from 722/1024 haste to 822/1024 haste. It can also heal, backup erase, and do box steps to increase the DDs damage!
