When playing (with Windower or not), I get the FFXI-4002 (Timed out) error any time 5-20 minutes after I log on. It seems to happen if I tab out of FFXI for a few minutes, I'll tab back in to see myself either disconnecting or already with the error, but I'm not sure if that is for sure what is causing it. Internet is working fine and it has happened 5 straight times trying to stay on today.

Go to Config > Global and make sure Auto-Disconnect is off.

Thanks for the reply, Auto-Disconnect is off. Thank God, I would have been very disappointed in myself if that's what it was hah. When that's on you don't get the red dot, you just get the error when the time has passed, iirc? This leads me to think that it's some kind of connection issue, I just don't get why. Comcast user, fyi.

It could just Comcast being dumb as ive had issues with them when I used them.

Maybe someone with your firewall or anti-virus causing it to do it? not sure if thats ever happened.

I just figured if it was a comcast issue I would see some threads on the forums. I've looked on these boards, Windower (When I thought it could have been a related issue), and Allakhazam and I haven't seen anything. Oh well, I guess I'll keep trying. Thanks for your help.

Can you force drop sorc ring from BCNM if you own each of the other possible rings?

I tried this recently, had all the rings but Sorc. and the BRD ring and all I got was either Astral ring (2/10), platinum ring(1/10), or just a scroll (all the rest), no JSE ring loaded in the pool. This was after about 10 runs in a row on 2 diffrent characters. I read somewhere about someone making gil off this, which gave me the idea to try it. Sadly I think it was ninja'd somewhere along the line. But hell, try it out if you want, maybe I was doing it wrong because I didn't have the BRD ring. The rings are cheap, it just didn't produce much for me. Made ok gil off the astrals at least.

Quick question,

Has anyone who has sacd JoP add ever had it when you sac die @ or near Tav zone in > HP > Teleport > Port to main > And still have claim on JoP add?

All this talk of dying to reset hate (I realize that hate and actually have the claim work a tad differently) just made me wonder if this has ever happened to anyone else besides me x.x

Did this start out of the blue and is not getting worse? Or was it fine, then began every now and then, then started becoming more and more common?

If the latter, its a degrading connection, likely a filter thats going bad on your end. If out of the blue, only at peak traffic times / days and not getting worse, its likely a disturber (comcast side). If constant and not degrading, likely hardware (router), or possibly a background prog on your comp.

JoP is one of the many mobs that will automatically reclaim to you if you are the one who popped it (or maybe just in pop PT).

I may get a chance to go RNG to an Odin soon, which would be the first time not being BRD there. How much r.acc should I be aiming for? Pot-Au-Feu is expected to be consumed unless he's not terrible evasive, capped archery merits, Mithra, etc.
