You need to stop this anti-polearm crap, I have seen Polearm out parse many SAMs including an Amano (noob but not the point here) in Einherjar many times and I'm not even talking about Flying mobs here, I mean even Elementals and shit. Polearm with capped Acc is higher DPS than GKT.
For Limbus it is more situational.

There was a long debate on the relic thread on sam pole versus sam gkt. Sorry you missed it, but you could probably take this off-line and PM Failure, et al on it.

1) lol ein and limbus. from posts I've seen, 50% of the people who go there don't even use food. Who cares?

2) birds: 25% bonus to pole. End of story. Sam Pole should win there. But take off the 25% bonus and then what?

If people want to put 8 merits in polearm for Sam, sure, if there's no other place to put them and they've already put 8 in GK. However, to do it so Sam can win at birds? Oh well. This was discussed and beaten to death.

If you think Sam Pole is higher DPS at other places (merits, Dynamis, etc., with equally geared / buffed and aggressive players), then you only need to post the parses or post the math.

Of course, if you feel that using epithets about other people proves your point, then you could continue to waste space by posting.

Assuming capped ACC for both and same DA (17% for both) a 5-hit polearm gets TP faster than a 6-hit GKT by 17%. It's not unreasonable to assume polearm does better weaponskill damage but GKT probably does a bit more melee damage while getting its TP (5 hits to 100 TP instead of 4).

Polearm probably still does more damage getting to 100TP on piercing weak mobs.

I will recheck the thread but the only Parse I remember seeing was the Amano vs Tomoe on birds where the Amano (which isn't even the weapon in debate, it's more like Hagun) had vastly better gear and I don't remember any math. Yes, 2% Haste on waist on top of other gear, spell and 2 March is a big increase for example.

I could make a post not containing those words as I am just about to, just like 99% of my other posts. Some people just take these things to talk to.

Would need a monstrous sample size to have any idea, I believe. As far as I know, it hasn't been tested if it caps.
