I appreciate the political message that the Boondocks portrays while still being funny. However I always get the feeling that the main target audience doesn't really get it. Good example is that a friend of mine told me that a lot of people he knows was offended by the Obama episode which cracked me up because the message of the episode was exactly how I felt.

People looked at me funny when I shrugged my shoulders at Obama being the first black president and turned my phone off during the election day so I could sleep since I knew everyone would call me.

I couldn't agree more. The Boondocks somewhat accurately displays reality in a fine satirical manner. The number of people/rappers who jumped on the Obama bandwagon because of the color of his skin and not his policies was sickening. People got offended at the Obama epsiode because deep down they knew THEY were the one's being made fun of.

But paraphrase Aries Spears, "We'll get the next one in there for the right reasons but we had to start somewhere."
