    360 Wireless Adapter Issues

When I turn on my 360 it will not auto connect to Live like it's supposed to. When I click "Connect to Live" it tells me that I need to test my connection. When I do that, everything checks out fine and it connects me to Live. Sometimes, if I turn off my system and turn it back on it will auto connect like it's supposed to. I recently unloaded my old white wireless adapter and snagged the new N one hoping that it would work correctly but I'm having the exact same issue. At first I thought it might be the USB port on my 360 so I tried it on the two in the front and on the two on my HD DVD player but I'm still having the same problems. I've reset to factory defaults and everything but nothing is working. I figured I'd post something here in hopes that you guys could offer some suggestions before I just return my 360 and try my luck with a new system.

    tl;dr etc, please help!

Wireless adaptor only works on the back USB port.

Disconnect the Wi-Fi Adaptor, start up the xbox. Start up a game, then exit to dashboard, then shut off the xbox.

Reconnect the Wi-Fi adaptor while the xbox is off, then boot the xbox back up.

Find the network you want, test it, boot up a game, exit to dashboard, then shut down the box.

Reboot, shouldn't have any more problems. The wireless adaptors are prone to wonk out every once in a while. That process should fix it up.

I had a lot of problems getting my N adapter to work with my new 360, then after about half an hour of fucking with it I realized that I didn't install the drivers off of the disc that came with it, worked after that, lol.

Still having the exact same issue. I reset my network settings and reentered everything when I got the N adapter so all the settings are fresh. I went through all those steps above and when I turned it on just a few minutes afterwards it STILL didn't connect me when I turned it on and told me to test the connection when I tried to connect to Live.

Honestly, there's not much else you can do. All I know is that the wireless does that once in a while, and sorts itself back. My question is, is the light on the back of the adapter when you initially start the system and boot red or green? If it's red while the dashboard is up, there's an issue with either the USB port, there's a setting on the wireless menu that's on, and it's all not on automatic, or the adapter is fubar. If it's green, then it should be good to go.

It's green when it powers on and I've had this problem with two different adapters. Seems like it's time to use up my warranty and get a new 360. lol
