The Legend of Zelda: The Hero of Time (movie)

Has anyone seen this yet? Apparently a fan-made movie was released on Dec. 14th, but recently shut down on New Years by Nintendo. It's still available on DailyMotion as well as various torrent-sites, but is it worth it? Seems to be about 2 hours long, which could be really awesome, or really terrible.

The official website is also down now, but here are some links and a trailer if interested: http://www.thesacredrealm.net/main.p...=fanmovie.html

The Hero of Time is a full-length, independent movie being made by a small group of producers and film buffs called BMB Finishes. All of the people making the movie are big fans of the Zelda series, and they have put a ton of creativity and effort into this film.

    Starring:
    David Blane - Link
    Hannah Fierman - Zelda
    Adam Boyer - Ganon

The movie is being directed and produced by Joel Musch. David Blane is also producing the film on top of starring as Link.

The movie's story is roughly based off that of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Link, who has been raised by the Kokiri, is sent to Hyrule City by the Great Deku Tree. Once there, he meets Princess Zelda who tells him what the Triforce symbol on his hand means and exactly who he is,

Meanwhile, Ganon has arranged a banquet for the king, but this gesture, seemingly in good faith, is just a part of his evil scheme. At the banquet, the king is poisoned, and Ganon overthrows the kingdom. Link flees to the Temple of Time and takes the Master Sword, but is shocked when he finds he has suddenly traveled into the future. Link discovers that it is a bleak future, for Ganon has destroyed the land, and so he sets out to find Zelda. Along the way he meets Sheik, and learns that he will need the help of the sages to defeat Ganon. After he defeats demons that are guarding the sages, Link returns to Hyrule where he confronts donzens of Gerudo warriors and ultimately fights Ganon.

Along the way, other characters from the game make appearances, including Saria, Impa, Malon and Talon.

Download link for the movie is up on Emuparadise if anyone wants to actually give it a shot. I thought about it but I don't really have the time atm.

    Taken from Emuparadise.org:

Tragic that I only heard about this today. There was a fan-made Zelda movie that was getting really popular all of December until Nintendo brought them down with a C&D order. The movie was created in Atlanta, Georgia, USA by some fans and was screened at a few locations in New York and Los Angeles.

The film is a feature length project and follows closely with the Zelda storyline. From the film's about page:

The film is set in Hyrule where a young boy from the forest (Link) is beckoned by his dreams and the sage of the forest (Deku Tree) to venture to the city of Hyrule and seek princess Zelda’s council. The evil Lord Ganondorf has plotted to overthrow the kingdom which propels Princess Zelda into hiding. Link endeavors to save them by pulling of the Master Sword in the Temple of Time. Consequently sending him 5 years into the future where Ganon now rules and threatens the future of the kingdom. Link must find a way to not only save his princess but the land he’s fervent for.

Unfortunately, they won't be able to promote/show the film around any more. I've uploaded the movie to our servers for you to be able to watch if you're interested. The movie is in a rar to prevent folks from streaming it from our server since that would really kill the site ;P Click on the movie poster above to get your download. : ) Some more screens from the movie below:

You were supposed to click on the movie poster above to start your download. Just letting you know incase you didn't find that in the wall of text above If you really don't want to click on the poster (you're crazy!) click here to start your download. [643MB]

    *downloads for curiosity's sake*

To be honest, I'm kind of surprised we've yet to see a Zelda or Metroid movie. Sure, Mario Bros. was terrible, but it's not like that franchise was terribly plot heavy to begin with.

I'm pretty curious myself. I wouldn't go expecting too much since it's..a very low budget film. Never know though I suppose.

Got some free time tomorrow so I'll give it a go then.

Being hit with a C&D order kind of sucks, given time this could have become something great.

Oh well, Nintendo wasn't having any of that.

Most likely won't lead to a lawsuit, a C&D was already issued, their website was taken down and development/editing/etc of the movie and future productions has already been halted.

They can't get rid of this though tbh, once it's out there it's pretty much there for good.

That was one of, if not the worst trailer I have ever seen in my life.

Why in Gods name would you watch this movie. Play the game, it's less torture on your brain and takes about the same amount of time.

I'm sorry, I can't waste time on this move. Come back when it's a little more, mmm, better.
