All of the changes made were ... well, entirely expected out of Hollywood. I wasn't disappointed at all however as this was such a great movie and one I will surely own on BD. Saw it on opening night and it was so good. I feel like Vaughn cast the perfect actors in every role.
I thought the changes with the ambulance were a little weird. I liked how it was handled in the comics more - and I agree with the jetpack, though my problem was way too many scenes near the end with it.
It was all right. Movies highlights were obviously the kill scenes. Everything else was a high school drama, narrated by a dude who barely has his adams apple.
Hit-girl and big dad story is better on the movie, but yeah picturing kick-ass as a sad fuck would have been better imo.
I agree and kind of disagree.
I read the comic before hand and while I preferred most of the comic plot lines over the movie it was cool to see it adapted live-action. There were several times where I found myself shaking my head at the changes but quickly got over them. Honest the only thing I hated was the jet pack. It made the difference between a great movie and a good movie for me.
Some parts of the movie were better translated from the book, some were not. As someone said, Big Daddy storyline was much better in a movie than in a book, although book ending is arguably better.

I didn't read the comic or anything but why is everyone hating on the jetpack?
Yeah the jetpack was probably the worst part, but if you ignore that overall it was great.
The jetpack was pretty awesome tbh.

I have to aggree with this, since that is what drove him in the end, of the comic of course.

I finally went to see this movie, and even though I really liked it, there was one thing that kinda suprised me. Thanks to all the fucked up shit in internet, and the amount of gore in movies these days, I though I was completely desensitized to violence in cinema, but something about 11 year old girl brutally murdering dozens of people just felt wrong to me. I know I sound like a complete pussy, and I really don't know why that got to me. It didn't ruin the experience for me though, I did enjoy the movie. Even though I claim to be comic-geek, I gotta admit that I haven't read Kick-ass. It's mostly because I hate John Romita Jr. with burning passion. Even more than people on this thread hate Nick Cage.
Oh, also, this is gonna sound geeky but Aaron Johnson (the guy who plays Kick-ass) looks pretty much exactly how I've pictured Peter Parker would look like in real life. :D
Ended up seeing it, and I enjoyed it. There were a couple parts where I lost interest, but overall I liked it. I just wished there was more of it, seemed they rushed the movie somewhat.
Also, forget the girl, I want the fucking teacher.
Just came back from seeing it. Loved it!
...I don't know why, but there was part that struck me as particularly humorous:

...idk, I got caught up on that little detail.
Honestly, that's part of what makes it so enjoyable.Spoiler: show
Just saw this movie and it was amazing. The pacing was excellent, there was almost no wasted scenes, I never really felt like I was waiting for the next thing to happen, etc. It was an awesome experience, I guess we'll have to see if Iron Man 2 can beat it!
I just saw this movie again tonight. I loved it as much as the first time through, if not more. My 3 friends that I went with however hated it. To quote one: "The first hour and a half was some of the worst cinematic shit I've seen in my life" and the other said it was "too cliche" I wanted to smack the hell out of both of them.
