Love that clip of the Scum fans getting it big style from the Italian police. Hahahaha!!!
I've been slapped about by the police at Man.City when I got separated... that was Easter Monday 1984. Awesome day and we won!

Had a guy in linkshell a couple of years back that was talking about how rowdy it gets at college football games. He said... "It got so bad we were throwing books at each other". Needless to say myself and another guy (a Scot) in my linkshell mercilessly ripped the piss out of him for the next few mins... he lad to log off in the end. Books.... FFS!

    Yes, I'm talking about KSU-Neb '98.

Nebraska won the title in 97, 95, and 94.

Also got one small one of the multitudes of "NC's" handed out in 93, when nobody went undefeated and they were 1-loss. They had lost to FSU in the Orange bowl tho heh, and FSU got the bulk of the titles.

The 95 team was also the first team since like the 60's to win a fully unanimous title.

Agree. But all things considered this was probably the best day of supporting Leeds since I started circa 1977.

    1) We weren't expected to get any result.... we're two divisions below them
    2) They are our most hated and despised rivals... and it's away! (Plus they still hate us as much as Liverpool even though we not on same level in recent years)
    3) Not won there since 1981
    4) Because of FA Cup rules we entitled to near 15% of tickets (with police advice) so that meant 9000 Leeds fans in their back yard (full attendance was 75K)

Oh yes... sweet Jesus that was fucking AWESOME!!!!

I see now what you meant, when you had said a '"share" of the one before that,' I thought you were talking about the 97 championship for obvious reasons.

Ah, yeah, I meant "3 of the last 4 and a share of the 5th" would be a better way to say it I guess.

But yeah. I guess a soccer fan wouldn't quite get the "on defense" thing having not been to a football game but let me put it this way:

Imagine as intense a crowd as you'll ever see, near the end of an insanely huge game, barely ahead and the opponent has the ball... and it's a situation where even if it *wasn't* a huge game, everyone in the stadium would be making as much noise as they possibly could anyway, to disrupt the other team.

The best part is they had just put up "unbreakable" goal posts... we stormed the field, and it took 20 damn minutes, but we got one of those fuckers down lol.

And then marched a few miles carrying it as a crowd and put it on the roof of the biggest bar in town, lol.

All this over a game where only one of the teams scored at all, and only once. Not my cup o' tea ol' chap.

On of the most exciting moments I've had was a Fenerbahce - Galatasaray league cup final. Graeme Souness was managing Gala back then (I'm sure scots and liverpool fans would know him).

Pre-match, Fener were the favorites (they also won the league). They made fun with us Gala fans and Souness...as a result, a good bit of tension built up.

Gala won with a goal by Welsh Saunders during extra time.

And then, probably one of the biggest shitstorms in sports history happened. Souness grabbed a giant Gala flag, and embedded it right in the middle of the fucking field. This caused a huge riot, Gala fans and the team had to leave the stadium with a police escort. That moment worth a thousand wins against Fenerbahce. This is also known as one of the best managerial celebrations.

Yeah, I know its a big deal and how exciting it can be. In football, that happens during penalty shootout especially to the keeper (or kick taker) that has the opponent fans behind him.

Oh wow... I didn't realise you was a Galatasaray fan. Outside the UK Galatasaray are Leeds' most hated team.

Yeah I love Souness. Was a proper footballer in the 70s and 80s. Seems so mild mannered in interviews but was a fucking monster on the pitch.

    1-0 at the Swamp.

Well done to all the Leeds boys.

We had our first win at the Swamp for 26 years this season (in the league). Magic.

Darwinion try living in Ireland, I reckon about 90% of "football fans" support them cunts here, I pretty much assume someone supports them unless they say otherwise, sickening.

    the most plastic shitheads going.

I was working last year surrounded by mancs for the 5-2 comeback at OT when Howard Webb had to help them out with a bogy peno, pure hell.

It's not gonna happen any time soon. But oh my God.... imagine what it would be like if we played you again in a European tie. They would just ban away fans from traveling, simple as that. The incident in Istanbul is not forgotten here, and never will be. Any future match between the two sides would be whipped into a frenzy.

Maybe over there you are more used to the manic atmospheres week in week out. We don't get that every week (how can you playing teams like Wycombe, Southend etc.etc.) Special "welcome parties" are set aside for the likes of Man.Utd. And Galatasaray would be in that category 100%

There was a European Championship qualifier a few years ago in Sunderland when England played Turkey. Dunno if you remember that, but the England fans were well up for it that day. Loads of trouble around the ground. And that was a direct result of what happened that night a few years previously... and most of those England troublemakers weren't even Leeds fans.

also this, even in the U.S. the huge sections of mexicans in the cheap seats are scary as fuck, especially at Galaxy games, but even in like Denver, it's crazy

That incident shouldn't have happened. Period. No one was expecting it to go that far and as far as I know its the only incident that involves death in the history of the team.

Like the Gala manager said, "I wish it was us who got killed that day."

At least nothing even remotely close to that happened after that.

It was a good win still in the end, Leeds were one of the strongest sides in europe without a doubt and it was fun to watch their young team playing on the field. I was sorta expecting them to win the CL the season after that.
