something I don't get here though, how do they manage the "PED" creation?

Like, what's to stop someone that works on the inside from just making enough to go buy a car?

I guess it's probably pretty intense on security in that regard, anyone seen shit about how the legal part of that is handled?
Um, the same way a bank prevents its employees from debiting $1,000,000,000,000? Can't spend more than the banks bank?

But less sarcastically, they again work like a casino. And like a casino must do, the company keeps on hand enough money to "cover all jackpots" no matter how unfeasable. They claim they only take profit from item repairs (cash sink) .... the money spend on auction fees, ammo, npc purchases and sales, basically anything not repairs is simply recycled. Thus me shooting 1 ammo is like me putting money in the slot and eventually all those shots add up to a nice pool for someone to get a nice kill/craft/mining result.

Sorry for the double post, but yeah ... wanna talk boring ... dear god it can be. What really can make your life boring is getting what I call a "painful jackpot".

While mining it became PAINFULLY clear that the loot rolls work as follows:

    1) Roll for success
    2) Succeed? Then roll for TOTAL VALUE of drops. <-- Notice the payout is rolled FIRST
3A) If hunting or crafting, roll for item drop and subtract from payout. Repeat 3A until payout is covered.
3B) If mining/drilling, roll for what mineral/liquid is found. Spawn an amount of ore/liquid that best divides into payout without going over.
    4) Put the items into existence to be looted.

Ok, 3A is not so bad. Simple to loot a mob, but 3B can so backfire on a miner.

One time I was drilling for liquids and I rolled a "100 PED / $10" spawn. Now since thats determined first, the game rolls which liquid is found. If its a liquid where the NPC value is 1PED per unit then I only have to pull up 100 units. But noooooo, I rolled Oil ... Oil is worth 0.01 PED per unit. I had to pull up 10,000 units 10-20 at a time.

I broke over a dozen drills and spent 4 hours drilling my $10 up. When I walked back to town, the weight of all the oil made my character walk about 1 milimeter per second.

Of course, the plus side was, I went from level 80 Drilling to something like level 1200 Drilling when I was done. So 4 hours for $10 .... but 4 hours for skill that could have taken me a year to level up.
