    Ninja edit on Jury Duty?

My nigga was talkin about some Jury Duty shit he has and I told him to just make it seem like he wouldn't pick impartially and he'll get out of it and he said that doesn't work anymore, because if you're not picked they make you come in again the next day for other cases until you get one you can serve >.>

Any truth to this and wtfawk rly.

None of my friends have ever been called for jury duty. Probably has something to do with the fact that all of us have been arrested (everything from DUIs, to to drug trafficking, to counterfeit money charges), a lot of us have never registered to vote, and probably half of us don't have drivers licenses.

I think we'd make awesome jurors however.

Nah, I just got out of jury duty myself last month. I went in to deliver my paper and I told them I took political science as a minor in college (clearly lying but it worked) and I got a "woah fuck that" face and I didn't have to serve. I don't know where your friend got that from, but that's far from true, at least in Connecticut it is.

i believe the laws are different for each state. In MD, you just have to show up and whether you're picked or not, you dont have to show up for another 3 years. I know this for a fact because i just served (wasnt picked) this past summer.

I think I was reading the wrong section when I read that since I looked again and it said some reasons will excuse you. The part about checking in the following day if not chosen was correct though (which is still lame as hell).

Also, here's the suggested dress code thing I had told you about:

    5. What should I wear for jury duty?

Dress comfortably, but not too casually. Dress for court as if you were going to work or to church. Many judges do not allow anyone to come to court wearing halter or tank tops, cut-off jeans, shorts, or shirts with offensive wording. Remember you will be acting as part of the court while serving as a juror, so dress appropriately. Also, you might want to wear layered clothing since courtroom temperatures may vary considerably, requiring the removal or addition of a sweater or jacket.

That's how it was here a few years back, but now they have it so you have to check back each day and it only clears you for 1 year.

lol and fuck that dress code. I don't even own a pair of long pants. They better buy one for me, or I'm showing up in shorts.

I served over the summer, they made you stay for 2 days or until you were picked as part of a jury. So if you went to juror selection, and were not picked you would go back to the jury waiting room, possibly be chosen again, and repeat for 2 days.

Basically it is sort of true but they will only make you keep coming for a limited amount of time, usually a day or twoish.

Is it a bad thing that the first thing I thought about when seeing this thread title is some changes they may have made to a Blu-Ray release of the Pauly Shore movie?

Well, it's a low crime area, so I'd say it's normal.

I had my first call for Jury Duty at 23 last summer, and my roommate the same a few weeks prior. Basically every day you had to call some phone # to check if the group you were assigned on the form mailed to you had to report. His group was never called in, mine was on Monday (of a possible M-F schedule). Went in, had to fill out a questionnaire and wait like 2 hours, told the prosecutors I didn't think they could make a solid case, and was out. There was a possibility to be taken for another jury, so we had to wait about another hour, then were finally dismissed. I think it's like 3 years that you can't be chosen after that (in Indiana). After that, group was not called to return the rest of the week.

tl;dr You may have to get out of multiple juries in a day/week. And I didn't lie, I don't think they had evidence beyond a shadow of a doubt.
