I wear high heels when I substitute, but believe it or not all the teachers wear sandals to work. I just don't cause I feel I'm not a teacher so try and represent myself a little better, and that was a big no no in CT so out of habit I won't do it.

I think it depends on the area. Weather in Cali at this time of year is still in the 60s-70s region, which is pretty much the temp all year round except july and august.

No dress codes except for 1-2 places that nobody goes to anyways. All the classy joints dont give a fuck either.

Wait, there is one place that you cant wear sandals too that was decent, it was the shit back when it was called Lot 7. It was actually a place to be seen in. 50$ cover and all. However, that place is kinda dead and the asians have all but took it over.
