I have watched lots of all white shows and movies. I'm sure you have and it never bothered you. Yet, white people make up not only a small portion of the planet, but aren't even the majority in some parts of europe, north or south america.

As with any Disney animated film this one was not without controversy. We all remember the stuff that happened with Aladdin where they had to change the lyrics in the song Arabian Nights because it said something like "they cut off your ear if they don't like your face".

First of all with the Princess and the Frog, the original name of the movie was supposed to be called "The Frog Princess", but Disney changed it later on because they receive backlash from the black community thinking that all black women are ugly as frogs.

Another big thing was that the main character Tiana was originally supposed to be a chambermaid (Like a hotel maid) named Maddie which was a very popular slave name for black females back during the period that this movie took place. There is also the argument that the main price was actually not a black guy and was a person of south American descent and that the black male role went to a man who practiced voodoo magic.

Some people would find all of this racist. I am black and I don't find it racist but rather a waste of $10 because most Disney movies are junk.

But yes they stereotyped, but so did warner brothers cartoons at that time too. Political correctness is actually fairly new. And while I wouldn't say that makes what they did ok, but at the time not enough people showed they were upset by it for those companies to think they shouldn't do it.

Disney has never followed a story true to the fairy tale, and that's ok, they did what would make it work for their audiences.

This is the truth. Look at the Little Mermaid. In the original version, the character of Ariel didn't have to kiss the prince to get her voice back, she had to kill him. She had to do so within a certain amount of time or else she would dissolve into sea foam. She couldn't go thru with it and then dissolved into the sea.

Also even if the movie has racist tones to it solely because it has an over abundance of black characters a typical non-racist person should not be offended by it because being a non racist person it shouldn't matter what color skin the characters have you should just enjoy the superb animation and the funny story.
