What cracks me up about racism in America is that when the term is thrown out, the first thing one usually thinks of is skin color which I guess is understandable given U.S's history.
What I think is stupid is this era of political correctness that's causing everyone to look over their shoulder before they say what they want to say.
Also, based on a lot of observations that I see on this board alone, the problem is mostly stemmed from lack of constant exposure of other races for whatever personal reason that might be which causes us to rely on pre-conceived notions of each other.
Honestly, I'd be more offended if I'm around a dude who has no real interest in getting to know me on a personal level try to act politically correct than a guy I just met come out of nowhere with a nigger joke that's actually pretty funny. Then again though, I'm a pretty laid back guy for the most part.
What it comes down to me is to deal with things as they come to me. If I don't have any interest in getting to know a person, I won't put myself in a position to be around them. You can't be everyone's friend and I sure as hell wouldn't recommend trying to be.
